Manly P. Hall - "Atlantean Records in Greece and Egypt" | Lecture Analysis

In today's episode I break down a classic Manly P. Hall lecture on the topic of Atlantis. This lecture is originally titled "Atlantean Records in Greece and Egypt"; in my opinion, it is the single most informative document you can find anywhere on the topic of Atlantis. This episode is intended to pair with my previous episode, which analyzed a recent article of mine titled "Atlantis and the Archetype of Empire". For more on this topic, see also my 2021 publication "Atlantis and the Origins of Civilization".The YouTube version of this episode features my accompanying notes for each clip. These show notes will also be posted on my Substack.website: www.alexsachon.comSubstack: thewisdomtradition.substack.comestore: thewisdomtradition.bigcartel.comYoutube Channel: "The Wisdom Tradition"Thank you, - AlexSend us a text

44d. Plato (Part 4) | Atlantis and the Archetype of Empire

In today's episode, we continue our exploration of the life, times, and philosophy of Plato. Here, we examine various aspects of his teachings about Atlantis. In particular, we analyze the esoteric significance of this pre-diluvian civilization from a historical, psychological, and philosophical perspective. As usual, Manly P. Hall's writings are heavily emphasized, as are aspects of Carl Jung's psychology, including his notions of "archetypes", which he drew from Plato in formulating, and the "collective shadow", which, as we will be exploring, is heavily linked to Atlantis's fall into collapse. To find the written article this episode is based on, see my Substack:thewisdomtradition.substack.comFor more on Atlantis, see my 2021 publication "Atlantis and the Origins of Civilization", available at my e-store:thewisdomtradition.bigcartel.comwebsite: www.alexsachon.com- Contains a link to Youtube for video and my Podcast for audioThank you,- AlexSend us a text

43f. Mandala Design (Part 6) | World Civilization as a Mandala

Today's episode brings us to the exciting conclusion of our six-part series on esoteric philosophy, the psychology of meditation, and the use of mandalas in esoteric practices. In the first two episodes of this chapter, we investigated the psychology behind meditation, mandalas, and the mystical experience. In the two episodes that followed, we analyzed Mahayana Buddhism as a case study of these topics. Then, in the fifth and previous article of this series, we turned our attention to another case study: that of Pythagorean Tetractys. Now, in this episode, we synthesize everything we’ve covered so far in order to lay out a grand concept of human civilization as a collective mandala of the human soul. I hope you enjoy. Stay tuned for the next chapter in my ongoing book project titled "Philosophy: Its Origins, Purpose, and Destiny" - it's on Plato's vision of the Philosophic Empire. - Alex Sachonwebsite: www.alexsachon.comsubstack: www.thewisdomtradition.substack.comstore: www.thewisdomtradition.bigcartel.comyoutube: linkSend us a text
