Killer Queens: A True Crime Podcast
Killer Queens: A Light True Crime Podcast | QCODE
Killer Queens is a personality-driven true crime show hosted by two millennial besties who bring their research, realness, and 90s nostalgia to every case. Heartfelt, hilarious, and highly researched — it’s true crime you can trust, with hosts you’d trust to watch your kids… or keep your secrets. Whether we’re decoding cold cases or dragging sketchy investigations, we bring empathy, chaos, and a few too many Friends references. We unpack true crime with heart, jokes, legal context, and just the right amount of rage - one case (and one hot take) at a time. For bonus episodes and premium content, find us on Patreon!

Christmas is a time to be with loved ones, give and receive gifts, and celebrate all that you have. It’s a time when the year is coming to an end and soon everyone will be making New Year's resolutions. All the songs are joyful and uplifting and all the movies are hopeful and full of love.
But we’re true crime junkies so we know that that shit isn’t real life and that real life is often terrible.
So, in this time of comfort and joy, we thought our awkward army of 90s loving, true crime addicted listeners might be ok with the cheer-level being taken down a few notches just for a little bit while we talk about some Christmases that were far more horrific than they were merry.
And, we’re going to gift you with more than one case, in fact we’re giving you 3! AND we’re going to switch off reading the cases. So, Merry Christmas and let’s unwrap your first unfortunate gift.

143: Amber Hilberling
>>> GET THIS EPISODE AD FREE! Join our Patreon for as little as $3/month to get ad-free episodes and other perks. <<<
It was a warm day in Tulsa, Oklahoma on June 7, 2011. A repairman had just walked out of a 32 story apartment building to grab some supplies from his truck. Another man nearby was taking a break from work and had stepped outside for some fresh air. A loud crash broke through the quiet afternoon and both men looked up to see Josh Hilberling falling from the broken window of his 25th floor apartment. He landed on the concrete roof of the 8th floor parking garage. His wife, Amber, 7 months pregnant and still in the apartment, screamed in terror and rushed down the elevator to him, but it was too late. 23-year-old Josh Hilberling was dead. Five years later, serving 25 years for the second degree murder of her husband, tragedy would strike the family again. Did she truly murder Josh, or was it a horrible accident? And what really happened to Amber in that jail cell?

142: Russell Williams
Russell Williams was a highly decorated military man in Canada with a highly problematic secret life. When he wasn’t serving his country, he was breaking into the homes of women and stealing their underwear and occasionally, he sexually assaulted women in their homes. Jessica Lloyd and Marie-France Comeau were the only 2 known women who didn’t survive his escalating fetishistic behaviors.

135: Halloween Special: Paul Bateson and Ronald Clark O'Bryan (Candy Man)
Part 1 of 1.
Paul Bateson murdered well-known journalist, Addison Verrill, but that may not have been his 1st or only murder. Oh and he was in The Exorcist, NBD.
***BONUS ALERT*** We've also included our Murder Mixtape for this week as a bonus Halloween goodie! This case is often referred to as "Candy Man" or "The Man that Killed Halloween." Ronald Clark O'Bryan took his children trick or treating on Halloween in 1974. His son asked for one piece of candy before bed, and was dead soon after. Had someone in their neighborhood poisoned their candy? Or was the culprit much closer to home?
