The Sunday Afternoon Session of the 187th Annual General Conference

The 187th Annual General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints wrapped up with talks from a number of LDS authorities, including Elder D. Todd Christofferson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, who spoke about "The Voice of Warning" and how Mormons are called to share warnings with love. Elder Joaquin E. Costa of the Seventy spoke about his own baptism and faith journey. Elder S. Mark Palmer of the Seventy described the challenges he faced as a mission president in the Spokane area in helping missionaries who struggled with the rules they live under. Elder Gary E. Stevenson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles talked about the attributes of the Holy Ghost, in a message called "How Can the Holy Ghost Help You?" Elder C. Scott Grow of the Seventy aimed his remarks directly at young members of the LDS Church. Elder Benjamin De Hoyos  of the Seventy held up the Book of Mormon and the church itself as "ensigns" or standards for the nations to gather around. The Saturday Afternoon Session of the 187th General Conference

  The Saturday afternoon session of the 187th General Conference featured the sustaining of officers in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and the announcement of updated LDS Church statistics. Mormons heard from Elder Robert D. Hales of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles on becoming a disciple of the Lord, Jesus Christ. Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles used a metaphor involving choirs to talk about the songs, sung and unsung, that shape your life. Elder Gary B. Sabin of the Quorum of the Seventy advised Mormons to "stand up inside and be all in." Elder Valeri V. Cordón of the Seventy discussed the language of the gospel. Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles spoke on overcoming the world, and Elder M. The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced several leadership changes in the Saturday afternoon session of the 186th Semiannual General Conference, October 1, 2016. Among them, Elders Daniel L. Johnson, Jairo Mazzagardi, Kent F. Richards and Francisco J. Vinas were released as General Authority Seventies, and granted emeritus status.
