One easy change that can make a big difference in your website conversion
By the time someone gets to your website, it’s likely that they know a little something about you. Maybe they’ve seen an ad, watched a video, saw your social media page or have your business card. Getting them to your website isn’t the end. You need them to take action, likely contacting you, so you get a chance to close the sale. Most websites that I see in my website reviews and consulting are lacking in some key elements. In this 10-minute episode I’ll share one easy change that you can make, probably right after listening, that can make a big difference in your website conversion. If you have any questions about anything in this, or any of my podcasts, or have a suggestion for a topic or guest, please reach out directly to me at Alan@WeddingBusinessSolutions.com or visit my website Podcast.AlanBerg.com Please be sure to subscribe to this podcast and leave a review (thanks, it really does make a difference). Are you following up enough times?
In my consulting and sales training, we do a lot of secret-shopping of wedding and event pros, just like you, big businesses and small. And what we find is that most of you don’t follow up nearly enough times to maximize your sales and profits. I spoke about this in my presentation and my most popular book “Shut Up and Sell More Weddings & Events”. By the time someone has reached out to you they’ve made a short list of their preferred choices… and you’re on it! Why give up sooner than you have to when those extra attempts can mean real profits for you. It’s so much easier to convert a lead you’ve already gotten than to find a new one! Listen to this 13-minute episode and find out how many times you should be following up, and when!If you have any questions about anything in this, or any of my podcasts, or have a suggestion for a topic or guest, please reach out directly to me at Alan@WeddingBusinessSolutions.com or visit my website Podcast.AlanBerg.comPlease be sure to subscribe to this podcast and leave a review (thanks, it really does make a difference). Kaleigh Wiese - Branding for Wedding Pros – Bonus Dialogue Episode
One of the most popular episodes of The Wedding Business Solutions Podcast is “The Difference Between Branding and Your Brand.” In that episode I talked about how your brand is what people say about you after they’ve experienced what you do. That doesn’t mean that branding isn’t important, it’s just different than your brand. So, to complete the topic I invited my friend, and fellow WeddingPro Educator, Kaleigh Wiese to come on and discuss branding, which is her expertise. Kaleigh Wiese is an endless creator, visual branding educator, entrepreneur, and public speaker. She has worked her entire career helping creatives find their visual voice. Her focus remains on branding and providing resources + services to help small businesses share their companies uniqueness visually. She also is a longtime event business owner, founding Méldeen in 2008, a luxury event branding and paper goods company focused on designing unique touch-points throughout event experiences.Through her work, she has been featured in The Huffington Post, The New York Times, Enterpreneur, Fortune, Martha Stewart Weddings, Grace Ormonde and has shared trends at Wedding Pro Workshops (The Knot & Wedding Wire), Wedding MBA, WIPA, ILEA and other niche creative workshops across the country offering tips for growing your business through visual marketing. In 2021, she continues her primary focus of sharing her message of strategic brand techniques across the country through one-on-one brand audits, online courses, free webinars and her membership community Brand Magic Society. When she’s not on the go, you can find her at home in Austin, Texas experimenting in the kitchen, with a book in hand or boating with her husband, Michael, and their two rescue pups, Charlie and Jack. For her free color theory guide, other design-focused resources and upcoming dates you can visit www.KaleighWiese.comSocial Handle: @gokaleigh: www.instagram.com/gokaleighIf you have any questions about anything in this, or any of my podcasts, or have a suggestion for a topic or guest, please reach out directly to me at Alan@WeddingBusinessSolutions.com or visit my website Podcast.AlanBerg.comPlease be sure to subscribe to this podcast and leave Want to see about joining an upcoming mastermind (bring together some industry friends to have me spend a day with you all) - or arranging one of your own (yes, I'll come to you!)? Why is attaching your brochure to an inquiry reply a bad idea?
You get a new inquiry. You want to reply quickly and get them some information. So, you copy/paste your carefully written reply, attach your brochure or price sheet and click SEND. What’s wrong with this picture? Well, honestly, there’s a lot wrong with that picture, especially the attachment part. When I wrote “Why Don’t They Call Me? 8 tips for converting wedding and event inquiries into sales”, I talked about how I wanted to ‘break’ your attachment buttons and why holding off on attaching is a better idea. Listen to this 10 minute episode and hear a different perspective on the attachment and how it can help you convert more leads by not attaching anything, at least not yet!If you have any questions about anything in this, or any of my podcasts, or have a suggestion for a topic or guest, please reach out directly to me at Alan@WeddingBusinessSolutions.com or visit my website Podcast.AlanBerg.com Please be sure to subscribe to this podcast and leave a review (thanks, it really does make a difference). Is it time to fire your website?
We all know that our websites are an important part of our marketing and branding. They’re waiting, 24/7/365 for someone to come from somewhere, and that’s when your website’s job begins. If you sell on your site (e-commerce) then your site’s job is to get people to put things in the cart and check out. If you don’t sell online, then your site has one job – get you the inquiry. If you’re getting the right people to your site (the job of your marketing and advertising) and those people aren’t contacting you, it’s time to either retrain or fire your website, because it may be costing you more in lost business than a new site will cost. I wrote “If Your Website Was An Employee, Would You Fire It?” and this 11-minute episode will give you some insight into how you should address your site upgrade, or replacement. If you have any questions about anything in this, or any of my podcasts, or have a suggestion for a topic or guest, please reach out directly to me at Alan@WeddingBusinessSolutions.com or visit my website Podcast.AlanBerg.comPlease be sure to subscribe to this podcast and leave a review (thanks, it really does make a difference). Traci Brown - Body language in the age of Zoom – Bonus Dialogue Episode
I’ve often referred wedding and event pros, like you, to Traci Brown and her books/courses on body language and detecting lies. I got to wondering recently what reading body language is like in the age of Zoom meetings. Do the same rules apply as in-person? What signals are you sending with your body language on a Zoom sales meeting? Great questions, huh? So, I asked my friend, and National Speakers Association Member, Traci Brown to come on and discuss these questions and more. Listen to this 27-minute episode and find out.Note from Alan: we record the video and audio, and in this episode Traci demonstrates some facial expressions, so if you’re listening on audio, you might want to go to YouTube and watch the video: www.WeddingBusinessSolutionsPodcast.tvTraci Brown is one of the world's top body language experts. NBC, CBS and FOX have asked her to reveal secrets hidden in plain sight. Her tools have helped companies build the bottom line through increasing sales and reducing fraud loss. Should you pay for advertising?
Some wedding and event pros look at advertising as a necessary evil. Others see it as an integral part of their marketing plan. While others either never pay for advertising and look for every free option out there. Which one sounds like you? I have a unique perspective on this as I’ve published wedding magazines, I was VP of Sales at The Knot and I’ve helped many thousands of wedding and event pros directly through consulting, sales training, webinars and more.
