Warm and Healthy Homes in Peru
Imagine living in primitive, tiny stone huts filled with smoke, poor ventilation, and almost no insulation. Many people who live in remote parts of Peru, have to endure these kinds of conditions, which are hazardous to their health. High in the Andes mountains, with snow and ice and freezing temperatures, many of the Quechua people, descendants of the Inca, do not live in warm, healthy homes, like we do in Canada.
Recently, ADRA Canada got involved, helping these people in remote parts of the Andes mountains to build warm, well-ventilated houses for themselves and their families.
Steve Matthews (Executive Director) and Peggy Caesar (Communication Specialist) from ADRA Canada tell us about the warm and healthy homes they have been building for the people of Peru.
