Story Pirates

A holographic motivational speaker (Kristen Bell) encourages the Story Pirates to the extreme. Featuring two new stories: “Rosie the Rose,” a synth pop tune about a flying rose who finds a new home, written by Avery, a 6 year old from California, and “The Soup,” a story about a family of chefs who must compete in the kitchen against a scheming foe, written by an 8 year old from Maryland named Elijah.

A Party Planet (George Basil) tries to convince the Story Pirates to stick around and have some fun. Featuring two new stories: “Every Midnight I Turn Into a Wolf" (feat. Lena Hall), a glam rock song about a girl who goes through a surprising transformation, written by Maren, an 11 year old from Washington, and “The Case of the Missing Files,” a hardboiled detective story written by a 10 year old from Arkansas named Will.

In this special bonus episode, everybody’s favorite worm DJ smashes the spacebar for some of our favorite songs and deep cuts from the podcast.

A tabloid reporter (Ophira Eisenberg) boards the ship with some surprising news. Featuring two new stories: “The Time Machine,” a song about a potluck supper that takes place in a surprising time period, written by Ellie, a 7 year old from California, and “Dear Water Cycle,” a literal love letter to precipitation, condensation and evaporation, written by a 12 year old from Colorado named Jordan.

A visitor from the future (Bobby Moynihan) implores the Story Pirates to help him save the universe. Featuring two new stories: “Good Cups,” a rap about all the different kinds of incredible cups you can drink out of, written by Timothy, an 8 year old from Florida, and “The Dog That Thought the Sunset Was a Ball,” the story of a canine who will travel any distance for a game of fetch, written by a 6 year old from Hawaii named Sheldon.

Baby With A Mustache is left alone on the ship and must defend it against bandits (Joe Lo Truglio and Beth Dover). Featuring two new stories: “Minnie, the Cutest Dog in the World,” a musical homage to Britney Spears about a lucky pup, written by Leif, a 9 year old from Indiana, and “How to Be a Great Salesperson,” a step-by-step guide to sneaky selling, written by an 11 year old from Pennsylvania named Ella.

In need of extra cash, Siegfried makes a dicey business decision. Featuring two new stories: “The First Kids to Work at the Census,” a song about two kids who just want to put their natural talents to work, by William, a 7 year old from California, and “Rowan and the 3 Sloths,” a story about an unexpected encounter in the forest, by a 9 year old in Illinois named Rowan.

The Story Pirates have a garage sale, and something very important gets sold by mistake. Featuring two new stories: “Jumping Bean Jack and Bouncing Bailey,” a song about the joys and perils of portable trampolines, written by Bridget, a 9 year old from New York, and “Betsy’s Grand Slam,” the story of a star baseball player who needs to learn one final rule, by an 8 year old from Texas named Paul.

Rolo holds a karaoke night competition in the hopes it will attract the Story Pirates to his struggling Bean Emporium. Featuring two new stories: “The Case of the Musical Cinnamon Buns (feat. Alysha Deslorieux),” a 90’s R&B-style song about bakery snacks who hypnotize by Hannah, a 12 year old from New Jersey, and “Attack of the Stuff,” a story about inanimate objects coming to life, by a 10 year old from Washington, D.C. named Annikah.

The Story Pirates welcome their old pal Franklin (Paul Scheer) to the ship. Wait. Do we even know a Franklin? Featuring two new stories: “The Monkey and the Ice Skates,” an ode to NPR about the very first primate ever to hit the ice, written by Pacifica, a 9 year old from North Carolina, and “Tissues,” a poetic tale of patience and belonging, written by an 8 year old from Massachusetts named Noah.
