Story Pirates

In this episode, the podcast features a unique story written by an 11-year-old author who also appears as a character. The narrator and author negotiate the story's location, encounter strange discoveries, and meet a mysterious old man. The narrator discusses their role and introduces three other stories. Featuring two new stories: “Porch Boogie,” a song about porches that detach from their houses and start a dance party, written by Elias, a 4 year old from Washington, and “A Very Monstrous Game Show,” a story about the only game show where contestants genetically engineer terrifying monsters to win the Golden Gross Thing, by an 11 year old from Utah named Charlie.

Lee, Rolo and Smitty start tracking down the other members of the Story Pirates in NYC, starting with Meghan, who is starring in her very own Broadway show alongside a theatrical ghost (Heléne Yorke). Featuring two new stories: ‘Why Are There So Many Commercials?’, a story about two kids who find out the truth behind the constant barrage of advertisements on TV, written by Sarah, a 10 year old from New York, and ‘The Tooth Problem,’ a terrifying tale of cavities come to life, written by two siblings from Wisconsin, Kade and Avery. 

Special guests Kirby and the band Mipso join the Story Pirates in Season 6. Stories include 'Black Bird, Blue Bird' about celestial bird connections and overcoming writer's block in 'Trying to Write a Story'.

A witch shares her experiences and efforts to rebrand witches as a spa experience. She encourages embracing the performance and character aspects of being a witch. The conversation takes a dark turn when the witch jokingly suggests being cooked and eaten. A spooky story from the archives is shared.

Story Pirate Eric interviews Frankenstein to help him decide his Halloween costume. They discuss various scary ideas and have a scare-off. They play a scary game of pretend and the doctor gets frightened. They also announce their tour and share a spooky story about zombies eating homework.
