Operation Clippy feat. Edward Ongweso Jr
Oh, the UK has an algorithm that reinforces class hierarchy and suppresses social mobility in the education system? Weird how that happens--surely that's not the point! To discuss this, we’ve brought on tech journalist Edward Ongweso Jr (@bigblackjacobin) of the This Machine Kills podcast (@machinekillspod) to discuss it with Riley (@raaleh), Milo (@Milo_Edwards), Hussein (@HKesvani), and Alice (@AliceAvizandum). We also discuss the UK’s fixation on murdering asylum seekers in the English Channel, as well as a Niall Ferguson article about how TikTok is ‘digital fentanyl.’ You will love it.

PREVIEW: The Boney Island Whitefish in Last Blockbuster on the Left (Ft. Will Menaker)
Chest passes! Carefully aimed jump shots! Ball control without hot-dogging! That's right, Chapo Trap House's Will Menaker joins Andrew and Riley for an all-showrunner display of podcasting fundamentals.
This week the brave technicians at the Jeffersonian-Medico Institute for Sexual Harassment are forced to investigate the cause of death of a very mysterious and influential historical figure! Deep respect for the boots of the American empire is sure to follow.
We also spring a gotcha Breakfast Update on Will and plan our future endeavours running a Airbnb Blockbuster so that we can lecture teens about Michael Mann films. Enjoy!

A Cheeky Coup with the Lads (feat. Joe Kassabian)
This week, we’re covering a particularly English psychosis: the upper class failson who decides to foment a coup in a central African country. Okay, maybe this type of failson is uniquely confined to the Thatcher family. That’s right, Maggie’s son Mark tried to take over Equatorial Guinea in 2004 with the help of a dead-eyed SAS madman and a South African mercenary named something like Jeep vander Honk. We brought on Joe Kassabian (@jkass99), host of the Lions Led by Donkeys podcast, to discuss this with Riley (@raaleh), Milo (@Milo_Edwards), Nate (@inthesedeserts), and Alice (@AliceAvizandum).

*PREVIEW* Keanu Reeves Predicted 5G Corona
This week, we're in the Super Chaos Configuration: Riley is gone but you have the rest of the cast. Milo, Hussein, Nate, and Alice review the 1995 Robert Longo film JOHNNY MNEMONIC, an adaptation of a William Gibson story that, uh, did not achieve its goals. And yet it's also weirdly accurate in some ways: posting destroys your brain, there's a global pandemic, corporations rule with an iron fist. And yet somehow we haven't yet encountered a cybernetic hacker junkie dolphin. If only.

Mr. Steube Goes to Washington
This week features the full cast of Riley (@raaleh), Hussein (@HKesvani), Nate (@inthesedeserts), and Alice (@AliceAvizandum) on the topic of recent tech CEOs testifying in front of the U.S. House of Representatives. As you would expect, the Democrats asked anodyne questions about being slightly nicer capitalists and the Republicans asked why their emails are going to spam. It’s a brilliant foray into the world of Big Guys and QAnon running for Congress. You’ll love.
Riley mentions the Clown Motel thing but I didn’t feel like actually making you listen to it at the end of the episode, so get it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QBJaTtF7XI

*PREVIEW* Britainology 2: The Noble Football Hooligan
This week, Nate and Milo are discussing the 2005 film Green Street Hooligans, in which an American played by Elijah Wood goes to Britain and gets inducted into a football firm, learning a lot about himself along the way. Is it a good movie? No. But does it accurately portray football hooliganism? Also no.

Precision Strikes from the Shorty Air Force feat. Quantian1
This week, we've got Riley (@raaleh), Hussein (@HKesvani), Nate (@inthesedeserts), and Alice (@AliceAvizandum) with special guest Q (@quantian1), an institutional investor and observer of the big cruel injury factory known as Tesla. We talk about how Tesla cooks its books via emissions credits, why Elon Musk is the way he is, and why the Robin Hood app is basically a dumb money index for investors with billions more resources than you have.

*PREVIEW* Fancy Art for Fancy Lads feat. Josie Long
This week's bonus involves the elitism of the art world, Josie Long's (@JosieLong) commentary on the way in which the entire world is gatekept by the rich, and the second segment features a guy calling his billionaire friend for advice about the state of the world. The advice, as you might expect, is normal as hell.

Le Gavroche de Wyatt Koch
This week, we've got Riley (@raaleh), Milo (@Milo_Edwards), Hussein (@HKesvani), and Alice (@AliceAvizandum) discussing the phenomenon of "dark kitchens," remote cooking sites for restaurants to cater to delivery-only services. Do they have bad conditions and almost zero labour protections? How'd you guess? We also discuss the fate of a Los Angeles jam restaurant called Squirrel, which tried its hand at a self-run dark kitchen that involve inch upon inch of mould. As we learn in this episode, the only thing that made it illegal was that they didn't have a VC-funded startup handling all of the unethical practices for them.
