Spirit Crumbs

I'm back with a solo episode! I couldn't possibly cover everything I want to share in one episode, so I'm starting with something that Spirit brought to my attention a couple of weeks ago. I started thinking about the stages and tasks involved in cleaning a house and how they relate to going through a transformation. When you start cleaning, sometimes that causes dust to fly around. When the dust settles, you can see what actually needs to be cleaned. I've sat with this metaphor, and a rather controversial topic, until the energetic dust settled while I got still. In this episode, I shared my hesitation to teach a certain energy healing modality and the recent mandatory training that solidified my decision. I will share more on this in a later episode, but I felt it was important for anyone listening who is considering the certifications I've gotten to know. It's been a couple of weeks since I recorded an episode, and it's been a rollercoaster! It feels like Scorpio season came early for me, and Emily has been feeling it too. Today is the new moon in Scorpio, and an eclipse, so anything is possible! I am hoping that I'll experience less crying than in the past few weeks, but I'm open to anything that comes my way.  The Cosmic Energy Report for this season had a lot of the classic themes - death, rebirth, transformation, and getting to the root of issues. I truly feel like if we are willing to make changes to the patterns that hold us back, there will be amazing opportunities on the other side. I recorded this episode last night to share a few quick thoughts about my website launch and creating pathways to expand and receive.  I was stuck on the About Me section on my website, and I was able to break through the blocks by reflecting on what came naturally to me as a child. Feeding chipmunks, collecting rocks, writing in my journal. I realized that most of what I love about my work now can be traced back to what I loved as a child. Sharing a few personal pieces of my story motivated me to push forward and finish my website!  This is a way for me to receive and expand. In one place, people can find my art, services and podcast! It means that when I have an idea, there is a pathway for me to share it and receive compensation without overthinking. There are endless possibilities and I can't wait to see what's next! I will always feel like there is more to add and improve, but this was ready to be seen. The feedback I have received has been overwhelming and heartwarming. The theme that I started with for this episode was being open. I've been taking a flower essence with that name to be more vulnerable and to make new connections. I had recorded an episode on this for the 100th episode, but it didn't feel like I had the whole message yet, and I was right!  I have been enjoying my collaboration with Emily, and Danielle shared some other collaborations that have come from the Spirit School Collective this week. I am also planning some art collaborations with a friend in the near future! Libra season is already bringing out the best in my relationships. My brother's birthday celebration was the first time we did an escape room as a family and we worked together really well as a team! The location we visited brought me back to a time when I had a sense of belonging and purpose in my career. Waves of nostalgia and emotion have been coming over me as I made some realizations around this theme and also my search for community in recent months. Although I have a lot of online connections, I am really looking forward to doing more in person events and activities to feel more grounded. As adults, we have less natural opportunities to make friends, so we need to know what types of relationships we are seeking before we start looking for connections.  I am feeling a deep transformation on the horizon for our Remote Recharge healing energy session on October 6th at 7pm EST. Cosmic Energy Report: Libra Season I am excited for Libra season! As always, Libra will bring balance to the forefront in many ways. To get the most out of each project and experience, we will find value in both the lessons and the celebrations. The upcoming energy will be asking us to put ourselves, and our creative projects, out there! We are taking a leap of faith, knowing that we will likely need to make some adjustments. Celebrate your accomplishments with people around you, no matter how big or small!  As days get shorter and nights get longer, we may encounter opportunities for inward reflection and healing. There is light in the darkness, so keep your dreams in focus as you process anything that comes up during this season. There is a lot of tangible potential in this energy. Be fully present and connected to make the most of it! Emily and I choose movies for each astrological season and we each chose some romantic comedies with Libra themes for very similar reasons. So guess what? We made it to a hundred episodes of Spirit Crumbs! I can hardly believe it because it kind of feels like yesterday, but it's hard to remember the first episode because I just go week by week. As you may have noticed, I created a new cover to celebrate a hundred episodes! Thank you for everyone who voted. I may just have to use one of the runner up covers for another milestone! And have been thinking about doing a new intro and outro, but I'm trying not force things that are not quite ready yet. My website and a shop to buy my prints are coming very soon too. I want to say a huge thank you to all of you who have been listening to Spirit Crumbs. It means the world to me. To think that I've done a hundred of these and some of you are still sticking around is really incredible! A true gift. This is one of the most healing journeys I've been on, and I'm so proud of myself for starting it in the first place because, as we've been talking about the last few weeks, starting something is often the hardest part. I knew that if I was going to continue with this, I was going to have to be consistent about it. Because I've learned so much, I figured it would be fun to do a list of 10 things that I've learned from doing a hundred episodes! I'm back with a regular episode! Today I am talking about a recent realization I had about the differentiation between consistency and inspired action. I've spent most of this year trying to find balance and return to my art practice. By shifting my mindset, I have been able to commit to my work in a more aligned and fulfilling way. The structure I have created between the Cosmic Energy Report, the newsletter and my Remote Recharge sessions, has given me more space to play in between! I hope that this discussion about finding your version of consistency will inspire you to make some progress toward your goals. Virgo season, and Mercury retrograde, will help us to determine what we need to stop doing and what we want to prioritize going forward. When we are clear on what our goals are, we can start making space for the necessary steps. This is the third and final episode about The War of Art: Break through the blocks and win your inner creative battles, a book by Steven Pressfield. The author has divided it into three books that have been guides for three episodes:  Resistance: Defining the Enemy Combatting Resistance: Turning Pro Beyond Resistance: The Higher Realm In Book Three, Pressfield is talking about the divine and mysterious muse that brings creativity through us. His philosophy is that if we show up, so will the muse! Committing to a practice is not easy, but it creates space for inspiration and downloads. There may be days that you sit with your sketchbook or Word document and nothing worth keeping really happens, But after doing this for a few days, there may be a spark when you're walking the dog, or washing the dishes that you can use as a starting point for the next session!  The universe wants to see us create and materialize the ideas that come to us. As humans, we have the unique ability to create. This is not a coincidence. No matter what the outlet is, we have a right and responsibility to channel our divine inspiration through it. There is an infinite amount of possibility when it comes to creativity, and how lucky are we to be the recipients? The last part of the book is focused on the fact that typical hierarchies in workplaces and institutions don't work for artists. There may be institutions like galleries and museums that require certain steps for artists to follow, but there is no clear pathway to success. Instead of hierarchies, Pressfield suggests that having your own territory, or niche, is the way to find fulfillment. If you are following inspiration without relying on external validation, you have a self-contained and sustainable system. You are meant to create your own specific work that others will will love because it is divinely inspired.  What you are here to create and offer matters. To the divine, and to me! Emily and I are back for our monthly forecast! We are slowing down after the fire of Leo season to get grounded again. Virgo season is feeling like an opportunity to dock our boats and find solid ground before we officially let go of summer. We are feeling all the back to school vibes! Emily outlined the weekly astrology for Virgo season and I shared my Tarot and energy forecast for each week. We each selected movies again that resonated with the mood of the season in addition to our forecasts. Our Virgo movies were very different and I'm excited to see how the season turns out! Like Leo season, we need to pack our patience and allow things to unfold. This is the second of three episodes about The War of Art: Break through the blocks and win your inner creative battles, a book by Steven Pressfield. The author has divided it into three books that I will be using as guides for three episodes:  Resistance: Defining the Enemy Combatting Resistance: Turning Pro Beyond Resistance: The Higher Realm In Book Two, Pressfield is mostly talking about the difference between the amateur and the professional. I specified in this episode that I view being a professional as claiming it as something you want to embody instead of narrowing it to only a full-time vocation. He talks about how you can approach a creative practice as you would a corporate job. You show up regularly, work hard, see the long-term goals, and don't just leave when you feel like it. Although I believe in a lot more flexibility, I can appreciate that he is mainly emphasizing the importance of prioritizing yourself. It will be uncomfortable, but so is anything worthwhile. I feel like consistency is relative. I consider 2-3 hours a week to be enough consistency for my art practice as I gradually shift back into it. If I was relying on it as my primary source of income, I would definitely make it a priority and dedicate a lot more time to it. I just keep spending time with my materials and being in relationship with them, trusting that inspiration will know where to find me! Remember that there is always room for improvement. This releases some of our expectations. As a professional, we know that process is the important part, so we are more open to feedback and help. An amateur feels that they know everything already and will take criticism more personally. I am definitely transitioning from some of the amateur traits into the pro!
