This week on the show we will talk with Hank Gilman, executive at Fortune Magazine, and author of the recent book, 'You Can't Fire Everyone, and Other Lessons from an Accidental Manager'.
Hank has had a long and successful career as a writer and editor at some of the world's most prominent publications like the Wall Street Journal, the Boston Globe, and even the Beaufort Times.
But like many successful and talented professionals, Hank's introduction to the world of 'management' was not at all planned for or simple. Why do organizations simply promote the best workers to management positions without really equipping them with the skills and tools they will need to succeed? What is it like to go from 'one of the team' to leader of the team in one fell swoop? And what has Hank learned about hiring, firing, motivating, and guiding teams of talented and creative people in his years in the journalism business?
I hope you can join Hank and I this Thursday June 9th at 8:00pm ET for 'You Still Can't Fire Everyone'.

Ep. 103 - Best of HR Happy Hour 'Robots and Social Networks'
HR Happy Hour - Episode 103 - Best of the HR Happy Hour Show - Replay of Episode 87 - 'Robots and Social Networks' - sponsored by Aquire.
This week the HR Happy Hour takes a one-week break from the live schedule, and replays one of the best shows from the last two years, Episode 87 - 'Robots and Social Networks' - originally aired on Feb. 17, 2011.
The show featured MIT Professor and author Shery Turkle, who talked about her recent book 'Alone Together', and how technology, and in particular artificial intelligence and social networks are fundamentally changing our relationships, our work, and ourselves.
It was my favorite show of the last two years, and I hope you can take some time to listen in.
We will be back next week with a live HR Happy Hour show, but for now, enjoy this first 'Best of' show!

Technology changes everything eventually, and the processes for finding, assessing, and hiring that 'just right' candidate for your organization are certainly not immune.
Whether it is video interviewing, location based social recruiting, or online virtual job assessments - technology is changing the game for candidates, recruiters, and hiring managers alike.
This week on the show we will be joined by two experts in the recruiting technology space, Ty Abernethy - Founder of ZuzuHire.com, and Craig Fisher, Owner and Founder of TalentNet Live, and recent session leader on this topic at HRevolution 2011.
Ty and Craig will be on hand to talk about some of the latest innovations in Recruiting Technology, how organizations and candidates can exploit some of these tools to further their objectives, and what the future of technology for recruiting may hold.
It should be a fun, geeky show and I hope you can join us!

On the show this week we will do a recap, summary, and review of sorts of the recent HRevolution Event for Human Resources leaders held in Atlanta, Georgia on April 29, 30.
Quite frankly, we were not planning on doing a 'review' show, but the passion, energy, and excitement from the time in Atlanta is still resonant and palpable.
Blog posts are being written, the #Hrevolution stream on Twitter is still churning, and there is a sense of attendees and even observers wanting 'more', just what more is might be hard to tell, but we will give anyone interested in sharing an opportunity this week on the show.
So if you were an attendee, presenter, sponsor, or just an interested observer in the HRevolution, consider this your invitation to continue the conversations started in Atlanta.
