Rachel Tapscott and Greg Monaco, Personal Brand Stories
Today we have a "mini-global summit" on personal branding. Our featured guests are Rachel Tapscott and Greg Monaco.Rachel Tapscott runs a video production and training business called That Camera Girl.“I help people shake off their nerves and overcome a fear of the camera so they can get their message out into the world to the person who needs to hear it. I also host my own podcast called Mindset Mastery, interviewing people who live their life by design and the practices they incorporate into their daily lives. I’d love to offer myself as a guest to talk about building confidence to put yourself and your brand out there on video. I noticed the same patterns and limiting beliefs pop up with dozens of different clients, and I was able to formulate a process for helping people feel more confident and look natural on camera. I believe that anyone can be great on camera, you just need the self-belief to start.Rachel says you're not "too old", "too inexperienced", "too introverted", or "too-anything else." You're exactly where you need to be to start growing your business with video.Rachel talks about:how using video in your business strategy can help you attract the right customers and clientshow to identify the limiting beliefs you may have about talking on camerahow to kick fear in the butt and create videos you're proud to shareRachel’s background“I studied a degree in film, TV, and radio, and like most people who go through film school, I wanted to work on massive blockbuster productions and become a Director of Photography. My first job was as a regional news camera operator and editor before moving into corporate video production. Originally these roles were a stepping stone to build up my camera skills to get closer to that movie-making dream. But my focus completely changed when I saw how video could change people's lives. With video, I'm able to help clients take their years of experience and package it into a product that can reach people all over the world. This is even more important where lockdowns, restrictions, and uncertainty mean that online teaching is the only option for many businesses.”YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFi0izf8O9PXQARNJfTX5_Qwebsite: http://thatcameragirl.com/IG: https://www.instagram.com/that_cameragirl/We also are joined by Greg Monaco, Brand and Story Coach.Greg says, “I help people tell magnetic stories so they attract the work they love. Marc Sellouk, Flewber Air Taxi Service
In today’s episode, we chat with Marc Sellouk, an entrepreneur CEO changing the aviation industry by bringing an on-demand air taxi to the skies called Flewber to the world. Flewber connects travelers to hundreds of private aircraft throughout the Northwest region. They leverage their own aircraft along with a vast network of partner operators, to deliver on-demand, private and regional flights. Marc spent almost 20 years in the technology industry where he upon selling his company, made a good fortune from it. His passion had always been to get into aviation as an aviator. but he needed to figure out how to take that passion and turn it into a business. Taping into the existing frustrations of frequent flyers, his passion met his entrepreneurial spirit. His journey in the past 4 years since he started Flewber, has included: First-year to identify the void and build that proof of concept. Second-year was about building revenue. Third-year was about putting those two together, putting it out in the marketplace, and getting customers to bite- to buy into the product.Marc tells us a couple of things he has learned from being the CEO of a groundbreaking company such as FlewbersIt's important to be able to pivot. As an entrepreneur, you have to be able to be dynamic enough to be able to shift, to acknowledge this isn't working and this is not going to be able to scale.Set your objectives by: Surrounding yourself with the right people, executing what you've laid out, and being confident in the product to actually put it out thereYour sign that whatever product you have built will be a success is when you take that product and put it out in the marketplace and people bite, people are subscribing to try it out, people want to be involved in the initial try out, people are talking about it then you know your product will be a success. You have to be able to adapt to scale properly, there are two things Marc considers when scaling: People and how people affect the growth of the company, and systems, how systems play into effect that growth. Team collaboration is very key in any companies growth. You have to be able to bring on new people and delegate, take on suggestions, listen to people, listen to what they have to say. Flewber's focus moving forward into 2022 is customer-centric. Getting right customer experience, customer satisfaction, and customer service. Marc and his team are listening and making those changes and showing the consumers that we're listening to them. In addition, Marc and the Flewber team want to take this model and expand not only nationwide, but globally, across various markets. CerVon Campbell, Singer/Songwriter
In today’s episode, we're talking with singer-songwriter. CerVon Campbell. Cervon is an artist known for what has been called a soulful sound and venting lyrics. Cervon’s music is about day-to-day experiences that he faces in his life. Cervon gets his inspiration from bands like Lumineers, Go West, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. One of the great songs he has written, created, performed, and produced is a collaboration with John Oates called DND, which inspired him to take a different approach on beats, and even rapping over a ukulele. As a creative, we asked Cervon what his approach to creating music, where he gets his new ideas and new songs from?He says writing is a major part of the process. He will start with a line or two lines, or sometimes there's a word somewhere in his discography. Then little by little, he’ll put the lines together, put the words together and come up with a little bit written down. Once, he has a song like this is his verse, this becomes his hook. When he’s ready to record, he will find all the music, find a bunch of instruments and, put them together. How did he and John connect so as to work on DND together? He and John connected through Instagram when John liked a couple of his posts. When Cervon jokingly told him if he liked his music so much they should make music together, to his surprise John DMed him his contacts and the collaboration took off from there. Cervon says John brings a more organic feel, more realness to it, by bringing in real instruments, How has that collaboration impacted or rippled into some of his other newer music? All the music he has made since then has had real instrumentsHe wants at least 80% instrument in his songs. When performing, he intends to fully perform with a band.John changed Cervon's perspective of music in that he was able to look within himself and think about his image and who he was as an artist. In summary, Cervon believes by exposing people to new music, it will stimulate some new creative thinking for writers and musicians and people will be more open and appreciative of this music. We talk about some of the creative things that he is seeing in the life sciences and biotech industries. Today, Hemanth tells us about the rare disease business, the number of rare diseases there are, the millions of dollars invested in it, and the process of working on a rare disease drug which they are trying to get this drug through clinical trials to apply to the FDA and get it approved. However, before that is achieved the question they need to answer is how do they diagnose these patients effectively in a timely manner? The solution is sponsored genetic testing. This is where they help patients get access to free genetic testing so that they can get themselves tested if they have certain symptoms. Finding a balance between speed and diligence is one of their challenges. Hemanth and his team are using education to solve this. They are educating the marketplace to, get those physicians to, diagnose quicker, through their website which has information on rare diseases like uncovering PH. Team collaboration is key in this industry, as there are many moving parts. Team alignment in their thinking is of utmost value to building the drugs and listening and meeting the needs of their patients. One of the cutting-edge methods the Dierna team has come up with is self-injection. This is where the patient can get this drug shipped to their home, as well as injected themselves. The patient does not have to go into the physician's office. This saves them from having to get insurance or traveling on a monthly or a quarterly basis to go into a physician's office. As a professional leading such a team, Hemanth gets his inspiration and creative solutions from Nature. He is always hiking and going for runs. These activities help him make connections mentally, that he wouldn't have made if he was sitting in front of a computer or actually working. Cause you have some focused thinking to do there. In conclusion, Hemanth believes in strengthening relationships with people. “I think you need to be open to helping people. When you start with helping people at some point in your life, they get back to you and they help you when you need it.” His future plans include working on a project that will have a real impact on the happiness level of people by writing a book. Joanne Butcher, Filmmaker Success
Today we're taking our global travels to Miami Beach, Florida, and we're talking with Joanne Butcher. Joanne is a business mentor, counselor, and advisor to filmmakers, especially independent filmmakers that need to get funded, produced, and distributed. Joanne contributes to the creative space by helping creative people get their work up and out into the world, Joanne helps filmmakers plug the gap between making a film and ensuring the film reaches its intended viewers aka the distribution gap. Her clients include artists who have gone to the very best film schools and those who followed their lifes’ purpose and went down the film path without any formal training. Joanne has been in this industry for the past 25 years. Her career & point of view of budgeting and fundraising began when, as a starving artist, she ended up running a film school and a cinema. It was a nonprofit organization but the cinema was a first-run cinema. While still doing that, she trained filmmakers and had to learn how to raise money because she had a $500,000 organization to run.Although the most common way new filmmakers think about distribution is getting into film festivals, there are a couple of different ways filmmakers can ensure they get their film before the right views and make a profit. Joanne tells us how:The first step is to think of the final stage-distribution-first. Otherwise, Joanne equates this process to a painter who might paint a beautiful piece but wants to hang the painting in a bathroomThe budget determines the channel you will use to distribute your film. The bigger the budget, the more famous people you will have in your movie, the more well-known distribution houses will want your film.Pitching is the most significant skill for any film producer to have. Where filmmakers learn to shorten their storytelling drastically and get to the business/ returns which are what investors want to seeAs filmmakers, we must keep improving the craft which will automatically result in an improved business sense. Joanne Butcher has worked with international filmmakers for 20 + years. She has worked with 100’s of international producers, writers and directors particularly from the U.S., the UK, Brazil, Cuba and the Caribbean. While directing a cinema and film school in Miami Beach, Florida, Joanne developed and created the Florida Feature Film Competition which led to the completion of several feature films. Entering the Competition put producers through a process that up-leveled their business and marketing packages while competing for a $200,000 prize. For the past 5 years, Joanne has been a business owner and business coach to 100 filmmakers who now have 7 feature films in distribution with 5 more coming out in the next 6 months. Her current clients have 70+ films in various stages of development from script to distribution. Her specialty is helping filmmakers raise funds to get their projects made and distributed globally. In conclusion, Joanne is ready to move her business to the next phase where she is meeting and working with filmmakers who are already solidly in the industry. In addition, she wants to meet more people who have access to money so that she can learn more from them, and expand her network.Joanne’s Website: Filmmakersuccess.comYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8KJGNRo4P6u26KKpsIEBJwEmail joanne@filmakersuccess.com

Our vision is to spread Light, and to teach “a system of morality,” but the bottom line is that we make “good men better,” by getting involved with their communities, charitable work, and education. About Chris: "I have written extensively on the relationship between Freemasonry and spirituality - my four books are in a series titled 'Spiritual Freemasonry.' Freemasons are a select community of people who are truth seekers, and yet at the same time devote time and money to support charities around the world."Dr. Earnshaw’s curious mind is his driving force. He is not content getting answers given to him by someone else but he prefers feeding his own curiosity of wanting to know and understand things at a deeper level. While at University, Dr. Earnshaw studied Japanese, Chinese and ancient Chinese literature with a focus on philosophers such as Confucius, Menzies, and Lao Tzu. The in-depth knowledge of these philosophers, and others like Menzie, Edgar Cayce, Bruno Groaning, and Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. Have inspired his creativity. Dr. Earnshaw’s creative writing process look like when writing this book -He first jots down his thoughts and ideas on paper, then he uses Microsoft word to put his written words into an electronic format which enables him to restructure, and arrange the information chronologically acceptable, which translate into a book. You may wonder how Dr. Earnshaw solves any creative challenges he comes across. He recommends: Stimulating or studying or thinking about a problem in-depth for at least an hour, a maximum of two hours, and then let it go and then going for a walk. You will find while you're walking, all sorts of ideas, pop into your mind.In conclusion, In your creative space, whether it’s in the middle of the day or at 3 am in the morning, the creative brain is able to put you in a state of flow. Anne Michaud, Journalist and Author of "Why They Stay"
In this episode, we talk with Anne Michaud, Author of "Why They Stay"As a political journalist and a reporter for the Wall Street Journal, Anne Michaud covered Bill Clinton's 1996 re-election campaign, Anthony Weiner's 2005 mayoral bid, and Eliot Spitzer's rise and fall as New York's governor from 2006 to 2008. Few folks have had the front row seat to the spectacular fall from grace of these politicians and the women who endured the cataclysm with them.Which got her wondering--as so many of us have--why did most of these women stick it out--or stay for as long as they did? Were they simply doing the Stand By Your Man blues, or did they have other motivations? Why They Stay: Sex Scandals, Deals, and Hidden Agenda of Eight Political Wives is the result of her musings and her deeply researched and fascinating analysis.Anne chose to look at eight couples and explore the similarities between them -- how the women responded to the crisis and its aftermath. These women made bold decisions that revealed their own agendas. · Hillary & Bill Clinton: One masterful decision launched her political career· Jackie & John F. Kennedy: Coping in bed and all the way to the bank· Eleanor & Franklin D. Roosevelt: A lifeless marriage sparks a social champion· Marion Stein & Jeremy Thorpe: Riding out British scandal to provide for her sons· Wendy & David Vitter: Married to the Party versus married to a man· Silda Wall & Elliot Spitzer: Real-life drama spawns TV show The Good Wife· Huma Abedin & Anthony Weiner: How to win against a man and the Media· Melania & Donald Trump: A foreigner's desire to live the American dreamAnne found some interesting correlations between all of them and Elizabeth Woodville, the "White Queen" of English history. A widow, she married Edward IV for love, endured his promiscuity to stay and wield power, and ultimately, outlasted him to build the Tudor legacy through engineering her daughter's marriage to Edward's successor.Anne looked at 5 factors in her books--how deeply are these women committed to being the family emotional caretaker, how patriarchal values drive their actions, how motivated are they about building a family legacy, the degree to which financial and emotional security drives their actions, and do they have a sense of patriotism that inspires them to overlook the misdeeds of their husband for the greater good. She assigned each a "White Queen Quotient" measured against Woodville's iconic role as the ultimate political spouse in the face of scandalous male behavior. While we as spectators can only speculate about what drives them, Why They Stay makes a great case for what causes each of these women to play out their roles as stay-beyond-the-embarrassment wives. If Hillary Clinton had left her marriage, she might only be known as the spurned wife of a retired politician. Instead, she became the first woman to run for U.S. president on a major party ticket, a U.S. Senator and Secretary of State. These political wives aren't powerless pawns. They are shrewder than you expect. Why They Stay pulls back the curtain to reveal why women throughout history stand by their man...for better and for worse. In addition to her reportage at the Wall Street Journal, Anne previously wrote a nationally syndicated op-ed column for Newsday from 2008 to 2018. She has won more than 25 writing and reporting awards and has twice been named "Columnist of the Year," by the New York News Publishers Association and the New York State Associated Press Association. Her work has appeared in the Los Angeles Times, The Boston Globe, Newsweek, BusinessWeek.com, Crain's NY Business, Cincinnati Magazine and more. Anne has appeared on numerous television and radio programs, including WNYC's The Brian Lehrer Show, NY1's Reporters' Roundtable, and Fox 5 News WNYW.LinkedInhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/michaudanne/Websitehttps://annemichaud.com/
