Dr. Paola (Prada) Tiedemann, Forensic Scientist and Head of the Forensic science laboratory at Texas Tech University. Paola was also part of SWGDOG and now is part of the National Forensic Board and is working on national standards for detection dogs. She has been a part of numerous canine olfaction research projects and is a subject matter expert in the field. In this interview we discuss synthetic odor training aids vs. real material training aids and what practices science looks at and what recommendations to follow. Simon Prins has been a Dutch Police Detection Dog Handler, Trainer and Supervisor for over 25 yrs. He helped introduce Operant Conditioning training methods to Police K9 units around the world.
