73: World Mental Health Day Special

Welcome to Episode 73 of The Madhappy Podcast.  In celebration of World Mental Health Day and the establishment of The Madhappy Foundation Pediatric Psychiatric Fund at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC), we are excited to share a special episode today. Through our fund, we will target efforts around adolescents with anxiety disorders – the most common youth mental health problem that commonly goes undetected and untreated. Early detection and intervention can change the trajectory of young people’s lives, but we lack tools to help health care providers identify anxiety disorders early in children. Dr. Meg Benningfield, the lead psychiatrist working on the tool our fund is supporting, joins us to talk with Mason and shed insight on the project.
