The Cyberdelic Podcast
Auki Labs
Augmenting reality is an innately human desire to share our ideas and perceptions to feel connected. Welcome to The Cyberdelic Podcast, where startup CEO Nils Pihl and co-founder & anthropologist Damir First explore how memetics and cultural transhumanism influence our (digital) reality. If you want to understand how ideas shape culture, technology, and the metaverse, you are in the right space. The goal of The Cyberdelic Podcast is to bring into our collective consciousness the idea that we should be mindful of the ideas and memes that we propagate. Culture is crowdsourced! We wish to provide the framework and tools to empower cultural authorship. Will future kingdoms of imagination be owned by companies who surveil and monetize our thoughts and actions or be privacy-preserving, deeply humane, and artistic spaces that our digital identity can call home?

End User, a short sci-fi story by Alastair Reynolds
We are BACK for season 2! In this season's premiere episode, we're taking a slightly different approach. We're diving into the world of science fiction with a special treat. We are incredibly honored to present a story penned by Alastair Reynolds! Known for his masterful storytelling in hard science fiction, Reynolds' work often explores the vastness of space and the intricacies of time, challenging our perceptions of reality and humanity."End User" is a short tale exploring the near future of augmented reality. Our protagonist, Doug, navigates life with a new pair of AR glasses, the Gaugs. Midjourney Tripping
In the new episode of the Cyberdelic Podcast, we go on a Midjourney trip! We talk about text-to-image tools like Midjourney and how AI generators have rapidly advanced in complexity. Now we can create not only fictitious people, objects, and locations but also entire visual styles. Users can type prompts to receive artwork that resembles a comic book, game art, a historical diagram, a realistic photograph, and so much more. The AI is always here doing its best to conjure it for us.We discuss whether we can use these tools for augmented reality storytelling and communication and ask if the psychedelic state beyond memetic boundaries can benefit from AI-generated images.Tools like Midjourney are already democratizing the ability to express what’s on someone’s mind. Having these at one’s disposal can help anyone realize an artistic potential, not by learning to draw by hand but by learning to think more clearly about what they want to visualize. Perhaps a good artist or the near future will have to be more of a clear thinker than a craftsperson and hunt for ideas at the edge of known memeplexes. If you're into cyberdelics or want to know more about spatial computing, we're building the future of precise positioning.https://linktr.ee/aukilabs

Building in Web 3.0, On Toys & Games, Human Speech Enhanced By Visuals
A new episode of the Cyberdelic Podcast will take you on a wild ride! We discuss Decentraland and the work being done by the Web 3.0 communities to build living, developing digital spaces; how all of us are trying to construct a much lower barrier to entry to novel modalities of human consciousness. From there we jump to the difference between toys and games, the digital playgrounds we inhabit, and the benefits of play to human development and civilization. We also talk about role-playing in Dungeons & Dragons and how visceral communal storytelling experiences can be conjured by using words alone, and how emojis are now new letters of our alphabet. Finally, we ask the question: What is the future of communication when you get to create shared experiences where your speech is enhanced by visuals in real-time?If you're into cyberdelics or want to know more about spatial computing, we're building the future of precise positioning.https://linktr.ee/aukilabs

Spatial Internet & Manifesting Augmented Reality
In this episode, we compare the internet to a global nervous system. We comment on the appeal of selling our data and the harsh reality of receiving less much for it than you think. Will AR pets play our favorite songs to us, and how do we communicate nonverbally in the metaverse? We explore the emergence of spatial internet and how positioning must become a utility to allow for spatial and embodied experiences that can be anchored in the real world. The goal of this episode is to paint a picture of how 3D things may be rendered in real space in the future. Oh, also, we discuss how wholesome it can be to paint Warhammer 40k minis.
