Ep. 103 Thus Spoke The Plant :: Exploring Plant Cognition & The “Real Plant Revolution” with Monica Gagliano
>> SUBSCRIBE :: Sign up for newsletter to receive updates on upcoming programs and events >> GET WILDLY UNSTUCK :: Sign up for Wildly Unstuck audio program (it’s free) + learn the top 5 things sabotaging your health goals & what to do about them. ABOUT EPISODE *Due to Monica’s location in nature at her home in Australia, the internet connection gets disrupted at certain points in the conversation - while we did our best to make the audio sound better at certain points, we apologize for the quality and encourage you to continue listening as she has so many amazing things to say. In her book Thus Spoke The Plant, a “phytobiography”– or a collection of stories written in partnership with a plant –research scientist Monica Gagliano reveals the dynamic role plants play in genuine first-hand accounts from her research into plant communication and cognition. By transcending the view of plants as the objects of scientific materialism, Gagliano encourages us to rethink plants as people–beings with subjectivity, consciousness, and volition, and hence having the capacity for their own perspectives and voices. Monica’s research aims at expanding our perception of animals, plants and more generally Nature. In the process of learning how to do this, Monica has pioneered the brand-new research field of plant bioacoustics and extended the concept of cognition to plants, re-igniting the discourse on plant subjectivity, sentience and ethical standing. In this interview, Monica shares about how an ethical crisis was the seed that changed the course of Monica’s career and led to her working with plants and writing her book. We talk about the collective “plant blindness” and Monica shares how resistant and scared she was to change. We talk about Trust as one of the biggest lessons Monica has and continues to learn through this work, and Monica’s explanation of “personhood” with regards to plants, and thus the legality of the natural world. Monica shares what the “real plant revolution” is and its many implications... plus lots of talk on top issues capturing Monica’s attention: GMOs, Cannabis, and the appropriation of potent medicinal plants on a larger scale. Stick to the end to hear Monica’s request for your support and how you can help her mission to protect and restore the ecologies of the Earth! ABOUT EPISODE Happy 11/11! In this solo episode, I was inspired to get personal and allow some intuitive sharings to come thru straight from the heart. I speak to what 11:11 means to me and talk about my career journey including things I have not shared publicly before. I talk about what I learned working in “corporate” and in an entrepreneurial setting for 10 years before I jumped ship into my own company, and my take on the “medicine of disorientation” and the unbearable feeling of “not knowing what to do next”. I also share the biggest takeaway lessons I’ve learned over the past 15 years and what I’ve been up to lately including new & exciting things coming out in 2020! This kind of intuitively led episode was a stretch for me (I like to prepare + plan, even for the Akashic readings!) so I trust there were supportive insights reflected in my own personal journey for ya. She is the founder of Metaphysical Anatomy and Rapid Growth Healing Technique. Evette is best known for her work in helping people resolve trauma from their past, and freeing them to live successful and fulfilling lives. Evette’s work is drawn from personal experience moving from a difficult past into a well-balanced life and career. She has traveled around the world twice and taught personal development seminars in more than 43 countries and helped thousands of people world wide. As a result of discovering her own healing ability along with what she learned over the years she completely changed her life. She felt inspired to share what she learned with those who were ready for big breakthroughs and transformation. Her book Metaphysical Anatomy was written to support alternative practitioners as well as guide the general public to sharpen their skills, knowledge and self-help techniques. In this episode, we discuss: Evette’s intention with Metaphysical Anatomy How her painful life experiences led to a path of healing, writing her book and creating techniques for releasing trauma Pain as a call to action How we’re avoiding that place of silence How trauma affects the body and disease, and the body’s innate intelligence in coping and dealing with trauma How we often associate shame with a natural release process and instincts, and how this is detrimental to our wellbeing The easiest first step when you feel triggered or stressed “Completing a trauma” and what’s happening in the body The strong link between diet and mental imbalances How depression and feelings of suicide are often not Evette’s #1 tool for addressing a traumatic event and trigger How we can change our neuronal pathways and change our brain How our brains are shaped by the patterns we experience We are expressions of our ancestors How to get started with Rapid Growth MAT Training How psychic abilities develop when we do this work How to unlock ourselves on a biological level Click here for show notes ***** SUPPORT THE PODCAST Your support means the world...
