Episode 301, Part 1- Irwin Chusid
Irwin Chusid is to outsider music as Irving Azoff was to Atlantic Records. This is to say that Chusid is the outsider music mogul. He's the guy behind the guy behind the artist… that you've probably never heard of.
However, you're familiar with Chusid and some of the artist's work he champions.
You may not know who Raymond Scott is, but if you're above a certain age, you may recall the animated series The Ren & Stimpy Show. Well, it's Chusid's dogged championing of Scott's music and push for its re-release that found its way into the earholes of The Ren & Stimpy Show Creator John Kricfalusi and Creative Director Bob Camp.

Episode 213 - Gary Myrick of Havana 3 am
Singer/Songwriter, Troubadour, and Texas Guitar Slinger Gary Myrick drops by Thunderlove Studio to chat with Keith and Rob about the self-titled debut album by Havana 3am from 1991.
Havana 3am took shape when singer Nigel Dixon (of rockabilly band Whirlwind), guitarist Gary Myrick and bassist Paul Simonon (of The Clash) went out riding their motorcycles.
This self-produced album is wickedly sharp and melds surf, punk, rockabilly, traditional rock and adds a healthy Latin influence. For 1990, it was probably a little ahead of its time.
Gary talks to the guys about his entire career, which includes meeting Jimi Hendrix, getting shot at while performing in Texas, and replacing Stevie Ray Vaughn. Myrick even plays a little sample of what he is currently working on… and it’s amazing, naturally.

AND, she's just wonderful to chat with...as you will hear.

Episode 211 - The Ballad of Ian and Oona
Communication breakdown at HQ as Keith and Rob are sans guest this week.
For reasons that remain murky, at best, Keith and Rob had to pull a rabbit out of their proverbial hat this week as the guest they had booked vanished. Authorities have been notified.
Thinking on his feet EP Rufus Thunderlove proved his worth by deciding to pull in the Words and Music series from Amazon amp. The series where they read 100 word stories and pair it with a song - like wine and cheese.
So, in lieu of a guest this week, you will get 6x100 word stories written and read by Keith and six fine songs (luckily not written or sung by Keith). It's called The Ballad of Ian and Oona.
Think of this episode of Abandoned Albums as the equivalent of a fine Champagne and Brie pairing.
We're back next week with a shiny new (and normal) episode.

Episode 207 - Dave Hill of Witch Taint
No one would ever say writer/musician/comedian/rockstar Dave Hill is lazy. Hill has done just about everything, including being the brainchild behind black metal icons Witch Taint.
Witch Taint is fronted by Dave's alter ego, Lance from Gary, Indiana - the king of black metal. The band has been called “the most extreme black metal band of all time” (self-proclaimed) - after releasing only one album Sons of Midwestern Darkness.
Dave stops by Thunderlove Studios to chat with Keith & Rob about the Taint. Arguably the most extreme band to ever emerge from Gary, Indiana.
