This week Joe talks with Bailey Hendrix, Matt Martin, and Erwin Platvoet from XRG Technologies. They breakdown the first, and arguably the most important step of the refining process, the fired heaters warming feedstock. They explain the process, why most heaters are inherently inefficient, and how they go about improving efficiencies for these existing burners through CFD modeling. We end on discussion of their new technology, Xceed, which is meant to improve efficiency and lower carbon and GHG emissions from both new and old fired heaters.
