Critical to the Energy Transition and Critical for Modern Life: Roll – to – Roll Manufacturing with Julie Beaudry at Flexcon – Ep 80
In this episode, our host Joe Batir talks with Julie Beaudry, New Technology Manager from Flexcon. They discuss the mature but evolving process of roll – to – roll manufacturing and cover the vital roll this process plays in modern life.
Many everyday use items are manufactured through some type of lamination or roll – to – roll process, including phone screens, car interiors, aerospace industry components, and labels. Important to the energy transition, this process is used to create PEMs, components for PV panels, and batteries. While this is just one step in the processing of renewable energy technologies, this conversation points out the need to look at the entire supply chain while we work towards a net zero society.
