#111 The mental health continuum - with Daniel Whitehead
Today we spoke with alumnus Daniel Whitehead, CEO of the Sanctuary Mental Health Ministries, about the way mental health conversations play out in our churches and our societies. How does the language we use impact conversations about mental health in our congregations? How has the COVID crisis changed society's response to and understanding of mental health? And how does privilege impact how––and whether––we talk about mental health? Enjoy the conversation, and don't forget to leave a comment! To learn more about Regent College and its upcoming events and courses visit:www.regent-college.eduTo learn more about the Sanctuary Course visit:https://www.sanctuarymentalhealth.org/Regent College Podcast Thanks for listening. On today's podcast, we had a conversation with Dr. John Dickson, co-founder of the Centre for Public Christianity. Dr. Dickson is a prolific author and speaker with a passion for evangelism. We talked about the purpose and place of apologetics in evangelism: Are all Christians called to actively share the gospel on a daily basis? Are inter-religious debates fruitful? In this episode, Part 1 of our conversation with Cheryl, we discussed the practice of land acknowledgment, exploring the connection Indigenous peoples have with the land and its link to faith in God as Creator. #104 Ruth: Vocation for the poor - with Gustavo Santos & Dr. Drew Lewis
Lots of people are talking about a theology of vocation these days. But not everyone has the freedom to live fully into their giftings or pursue the career of their dreams: financial constraints, family obligations, and personal limitations often seem to have more weight than a sense of inward call. This week Old Testament scholars Dr. Drew Lewis and Gustavo Santos, Administrator of Regent's MA in Leadership, Theology, and Society, show us how the Book of Ruth speaks into a rich biblical theology of vocation that meets each of us in our particular circumstances.
