In this episode of the Detroit Lions Podcast, Chris and Sandman are here to break down the latest Lions news after the Detroit Lions face off against the Minnesota Vikings. The Lions are riding high as one of the op-scoring teams in the league, while the Minnesota Vikings are coming off of a short week taking a loss against the Philadelphia Eagles. Across the board analysts say the Lions outperformed the Vikings against the Eagles, but there’s a reason they play the games, and today will tell the tale of who stands taller. Detroit Lions Podcast Downgrades The Minnesota Vikings The Detroit Lions are a different team in 2022 than they were in 2021, and they took huge strides from the team they were before at that point. Hard Knocks this year solidified that the Lions aren’t the team that everyone used to scoff at. Grit is the work the staff likes to use, but to the Detroit Lions, its not just a word. The Lions lead the league in running yards before contact, they lost by just 3 points to a team they lost by 38 to last year. The Lions are about to face the Minnesota Vikings at US Bank Stadium (U Spank Stadium) who they nearly beat last year. Momentum is on the side of the Detroit Lions. In this episode of the Detroit Lions Podcast, Chris and Jeff are back at it to discuss the latest Detroit Lions news and rumors. In this episode of The Detroit Lions Podcast, Chris and Jeff are back together again with our first show after the start of the 2022 Detroit Lions NFL season. The Lions had a heck of a game against the Eagles, and showed the grit that coach Dan Campbell continues to preach. Playing through a tough first half, the team adjusted and came back to play the Philadelphia Eagles to a close loss. What does this mean for the Lions? SOL? Knocking rust? This week Chris and Jeff get together to discuss the latest from the Detroit Lions ahead of the start of the 2022 NFL season and the final episode of Hard Knocks. The Lions ended the series in a grand fashion, and we got to see a whole lot more of what makes this team tick. It obviously bodes well for the locker room, but will it translate to performance on the football field? Detroit Lions Podcast Gears Up For 2022 NFL Season With the preseason wrapped, the Lions begin their preparation for their matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles today. All the questions that remain will be answered in the coming weeks, and we’ll start to get a sense of the fruits of the labor invested by the front office in building and coaching this team. Detroit Lions fans are in a hopeful place as they set off on what might be their most difficult matchup of the season, but we also know the coaching staff has had this game circled on the calendar for a long time. Will the team’s preparation be enough? We’ll take a look and discuss what we see. There are a few Detroit Lions injuries to discuss, the biggest one (both in size and impact) is Halapoulivaati Vaitai. His back issues have the team working on their back up plan out of the gate. This week Chris and Jeff get together to discuss the latest from the Detroit Lions preseason and Hard Knocks. The Detroit Lions just faced one of the most difficult days of the year for a front office that actually cares about its players. The Lions cut their roster down to the NFL mandated 53 players as well as assembled their practice squad of reserve players. Some will find a place on other teams, most will find that they’ve come to the end of their playing career. This week Chris and Jeff get together again to break down the latest from Detroit Lions land. With the first preseason game in the books last night and the first episode of Hard Knocks having been released this week, there is a ton to talk about. Detroit Lions Podcast Preseason Breakdown We’ll start with a recap of the first preseason game of 2022 in which the Detroit Lions and Atlanta Falcons faced off at Ford Field. The NFL Network pulled some shenanigans on out of market watchers (which is why we 100% want the NFL not to bring the Sunday Ticket in-house) leaving us without a (legal) way to watch the end of the game in which the Lions squandered their lead and lost the game. That cost Chris $2, but its not the end of the world… We’ll talk about who shined and who stunk, we’ll also cover the first episode of Hard Knocks this week. What a great episode. Having watched it numerous times, we can say with certainty, you can’t help but love these coaches and this team. We’ll also discuss the big picture for the Detroit Lions. What’s going well, what needs work, are they on the path they say they are? We’ll answer those questions and a whole lot more in this week’s episode of the Detroit Lions Podcast.
