Today’s conversation is with Dr. Daniel Crosby. Daniel is a psychologist, behavioural finance expert and asset manager who applies his study of market psychology to everything from financial product design to security selection. He is the author of The Behavioural Investor, co-author of the New York Times bestseller Personal Benchmark: Integrating Behavioural Finance and Investment Management, and the Chief Behavioural Office at Orion Advisors Solutions. 123) Simon Thomas - Perseverance, Blue Peter, & Grief

Today’s conversation is with Simon Thomas, former Blue Peter presenter, Sports broadcaster, and author. Expect to learn about the experiences that shaped Simon as a young man and the steps and years on career development that took place before his break on Blue Peter in 1998. This is a story of perseverance and belief, and within this I understand more about Simon’s Christian faith and the role this played in his life. Simon’s next step was into the world of sports broadcasting and led to his dream of presenting live Premier League Football. As part of this discussion, Simon opens up about the anxiety that started to cause him problems in his second season presenting the Premier League and what he now understands about himself and life to support him working in this high pressure environment in the future. During the peak of Simon’s challenges with anxiety, his wife Gemma tragically passed away in autumn 2017 and he bravely shares this period of his life during our conversation. I have tremendous admiration for Simon and his ability to speak articulately about tragedy. Importantly, he discusses the acts of kindness, support and positive events that can come from our lowest moments and biggest heartbreaks.
