What Type of Leader Are You?

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_BONUS_Episode-What_Type_of_Leader_Are_You.mp3 What type of leader are you? Click Here to take our Visionary Leadership Assessment! On today’s bonus episode, David & Steph talk about the importance of being a visionary leader & what it means for the growth of your business. They also launch a newly designed assessment tool created by Life is Now Inc. that helps you determine which type of leader you are. Full Transcript Steph So I’m really excited today. David Tell me about it. Steph Well, you know about it, but I’ll tell you about it anyway, because we’re on this podcast. Big day for us. Yesterday we launched a new website, we launched new branding, and we launched a brand new tool. David That is exciting. Steph I’m so proud of it. You know, it’s fun to create something and just be so proud of what you created because you know that it’s going to make a difference in people’s lives. So for quite a while now, David and I have been having high level conversations about leadership. Because our goal is to help leaders, because we know that when we help leaders of companies, that trickles down into their team and that trickles down into our team’s families, and it creates a ripple effect, right? David Yeah, for sure. Synergy, productivity, the whole thing like explosions in business in a good way. Steph You know, our big thing is we want to create impact. We want to help the good guys win. Right. That’s what lights us up. And I really feel like this new tool that we created helps the good guys win. And in this conversation we’ve been having about leaders, we’ve been working with leaders. While you’ve been working with leaders for longer than I have. I personally have been working with leaders for 14 years. You’ve been working with leaders for a lot longer than that. David But what’s interesting is not on this topic that we’re going to talk about today. Right. This is different. This is not only a growth edge for us, it’s a growth edge for everybody in our community. Steph Right. So what we noticed, sitting down and having conversations between the two of us is that leaders kind of fall into four different leadership types, leadership categories, especially the visionary leaders. Right. People that want to create something really wonderful in the world, that want to impact lives, that want to help more people. You know, the people that go into business because they have a mission. They believe that they’re on purpose in what they’re doing. And we noticed that these leaders think very differently, not all leaders think the same. Not all leaders lead the same. Not all leaders need the same systems. Not all leaders need the same help. Not all you know, it’s not one size fits all, right. In terms of leadership and a lot of the books that you read and a lot of the courses that are out there in leadership teach one way and it’s really black and white. It is. But when you look at the mindset of leaders, because it all stems with mindset, they all start in different places and they’re all influenced by their upbringing, just like anyone’s influenced by their upbringing right before the age of seven. They don’t have the ability to choose what goes into their mind. So whatever their situation is, as that young person under the age of seven then gets absorbed, right? It goes on, yeah, yeah. And it stays. And it influences how that person filters their world. David Yeah. Forever shapes the way they see the world and the way that they approach and see their business. And that’s different. Steph Correct. And what we’ve noticed is that we can’t talk to each business owner the same way. Right. David That’s right. Steph And we’ve noticed this through the apps that we’ve done, the private coaching that we’ve done, the group. I mean, my gosh, we’ve done so much. We’ve worked so long with leaders of companies that we know that we have to have an understanding of what’s going on in their… David How they think. Steph How they think in order to help them. So I’m making this long story shorter right now. So what we did is we went to work and we created an assessment tool. And the idea behind this assessment tool is that you answer some very specific questions, not many of them. I think that I mean, I’ve taken this assessment six times to test it and make sure it works, but I think it takes literally six and a half minutes and you get a result. So it categorizes you. And we’ve asked questions. It’s based in psychology. We’ve asked questions, make it based on human design. And it groups you in one of four leadership types. And then the cool thing about that is that with each leadership type, just like anything, you have the good and you have the bad, right? You have the superpower of that leadership type and you also have the kryptonite, right? And it’s different for each leadership type. So I’m going to use myself as an example. Okay. So I took the quiz. I mean, I created it, but I didn’t actually know what I was going to turn out to be. So I took the quiz and my result was a catalyst leader and the superpower of a catalyst leader is that teams love to work with you. A catalyst leader is all about building people up. It’s getting wins for everyone. It’s how you communicate and relationship build. I’m a relationship person, right? My strength as a leader is in having open communication, creating safe places for teams, and then teaching other people how to do that as well. But my kryptonite is in the belief that I have to do it all myself, that it’s difficult for me to delegate sometimes, that if it if it’s going to get done, it needs to get done right by me. My kryptonite is in allowing other people to help me. Allowing, allowing myself to receive support because the opposite side of the catalyst leader is the martyr. And that’s 100% in my past. Right? Raised by martyrs became a martyr. I’m a recovering martyr. It shows up around the corner, oh, poor me, you know, I’ll just do it myself, work yourself to the bone. Because my value was in how hard I worked and the fact that I could solve problems, right? Yeah. But for me to step into being the catalyst leader, I needed to. I need to let go of those things. And then the cool thing is, the report that you get after you take this quiz gives you specific things that you can start doing to begin to step more into the superpower side of your leader and out of the kryptonite side of your visionary leadership role. So it’s not just one of those tools that you see on Facebook that tells you, oh, you’re a lion and here’s why you’re like a lion. David No, it’s really an assessment. Steph It’s very much an assessment. It’s very much a tool. An assessment that helps you uncover your blindspots. David Yeah. In an incredible way, too. Steph Yeah. And you know, so blindspots. Right. These are the things that you can’t see for yourself. Most of the time people get something that is not right, but you can’t figure out what that not right thing is, you feel like there’s something that you’re missing. There’s something that you don’t understand, but you’re not sure what it is you don’t understand. But you know that there’s something that you don’t understand because you keep getting the result that you don’t want. That’s a blind spot. The purpose of this tool is to help you see that blind spot so that you can begin to make changes and begin and start to head in the right direction. David Yeah. Well, the other thing about the blind spot is that you have a tendency to unconsciously keep approaching it from what seems normal to you and you don’t understand why you’re not getting a different result. And it can be extremely frustrating, right? Because you see the world the way that you do and that makes sense to you. But why this doesn’t make sense to change it from your perspective is very confusing for people. Steph Right. Well, let’s take let’s take you, for example. Yeah. You are a charismatic leader. Right. And here’s the thing with charismatic leaders. They don’t want to be a leader. They don’t want to lead a team. And I don’t know how many times I’ve had conversations with business owners and finally pulled it out of them that they actually don’t want to be the leader of their company. And there’s nothing wrong with that. But if you’re a charismatic leader and you’re feeling constantly pushed to be the leader in your company, you’re going to create an absolute mess, right? Your team’s not going to be clear on the direction that you’re going. You’re going to constantly feel like you can’t communicate, like no one understands you. David Well, that’s the kryptonite part of it. That’s the key. You’re constantly misunderstood, right? We think fast. We think big, broad pictures. We’re very creative. We get bored extremely easily. That’s totally true for me. It’s my whole life. And as the interesting thing about this stuff is as a kid, the board was I was disciplined for the board part. Instead of anybody recognizing what my gift was, I was ridiculed for it because it affected everybody else in a negative way. So it’s a constant. All my life I felt like I was misunderstood, like I was trying to get a message across. But the people that I was around, it was misunderstood. And it wasn’t till I got into business that I actually got celebrated, which was a huge shock for me. Steph Yeah. And just think you being the charismatic leader, if you wouldn’t have been able to step outside yourself and say, I’m not the best person for this job, I mean. David Right. Steph God only knows what would have happened. David There would have been no growth. You would just completely standstill forever. Steph And it opened the door for me to come in and say, I’ll be the leader and I know how to communicate with you. You have an idea. I’m thinking, I have no idea what he means. And I know the questions to ask, to pull out all the information that I need to be able to make it so.  So there are two other types of leaders. There’s Legacy Leader and there’s Limitless leader. I’m not going to go into them, but I guarantee that everyone, including you, falls into one of those four leadership characteristics. And every single one of you has a superpower that you may not even be aware of. That, if you could tap into more, would create amazing results for your business. And you also have some kryptonite that you could actually have tied to your ankles right now because you’re doing things that you think you should be doing or not doing, things that you don’t even know you should be doing because of your leadership style. Right. Does that make sense? David Yeah. Oh, absolutely. You know, I’ve seen many people that are charismatic leaders that think that they’ve consistently hired the wrong people and they have trouble with people leaving. And so it goes back to that. I’m completely misunderstood. And what they don’t understand is they don’t have somebody with your talent and gifts to be able to communicate and build. So there’s a balance that it has to happen. And I was talking to somebody about this. I said it’s really interesting. You have two people who bring these amazing gifts and it creates a third entity, right? It’s a beautiful creation. What comes out of those two things when you consider just actually working together, but you have to understand it to be able to do that, right? Steph And the purpose of this assessment is to not only help you understand, but it’s also to give you actual action things that you can begin to implement now to begin to change these things. So like I said, it’s not your typical quiz on Facebook that you take. It inspires you that you’re alive because of you, you know what I mean? You’ve all seen those, right? And they’re fun, they’re great, whatever. But we wanted to add, you know, real value and make this something that can be super useful and also, you know, helpful for the person receiving the quiz and also helpful for a person who’s coaching the person receiving the quiz because that helps that person understand the person better. And it also helps teams understand their leader better. So I just think this is going to create a ripple effect that we haven’t even thought of yet. . David Completely. Steph And I’m really excited to announce it, which is why we’re doing this special super quick. David Yes.  Steph So if you’re interested in finding out what your visionary leader type is, we’d love for you to take this quiz. It’s completely free. We launched it to our list yesterday. So if you’re on our list, you would have gotten an email form. Make sure you check your email. And if you’re not on our list, you can take this quiz by going to lifeisnowinc.com/leader. So, super simple lifeisnowinc.com/leader. We hope to see your quiz come through. We hope it provides an incredible amount of value for you and gives you some insights on what you need to stop doing. Yeah, and also what you need to start doing. David Uncover the blind spot. Steph And uncover the blind spots. It’s key. David Yep. Steph Thanks. Money Stories Matter

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_556-Mindset_Mondays-Lack_Mindset_FINAL.mp3 Most of us grew up hearing messages that reinforced the idea that money is scarce and that we should hold onto our money and avoid spending it on anything that’s “too much.” People will drive 30 minutes across town just to save $0.03 on a gallon of gas, as if that’s what makes you a good person. We’ve also heard things like, “It’s stupid to waste money on expensive things.”  These are your money stories. In fact, spending money on certain things isn’t part of most people’s value system. For example, “Why spend money on breakfast?” “Why buy a $450 bottle of wine when you can buy it cheaper at the liquor store?” ($450 used to be Steph’s car payment!) When you’re in business, these kinds of lack-based and scarcity-based ideas can actually hold you back from growth. In today’s episode, we discuss:   Various memories that Steph, BT, and I all have around childhood experiences with money—and how these money stories impacted our sense of value and worth as adults  How BT’s rich uncle told him to “buy anything you want” at the sporting goods store—BT chose an $80 skateboard that was his mom’s salary for the entire week, and she made him take it back How Steph was only allowed to spend money on certain things when she was growing up The mindset behind people who think, “it’s stupid to waste money” How Steph and BT’s daughter, Emma, purchased a $70 stuffed animal with her own Christmas money at age 7, and how this upset members of the family Why your desire for something (e.g., a house) is actually the thing that will pull your business forward   Many business owners are terrified to spend money. They run their business based on survival. They’re worried about, “What if something bad happens? What if the other shoe drops?” Deep down, they have a fear of looking stupid. The truth is, if you hold on to money, your business dies. If you run your business based on survival, your business dies. You can change a lack mindset by focusing on what you desire. You get to choose what to believe in. You can choose to operate based on abundance rather than lack. A Conversation with Marc Polymeropoulos

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_555-Marc_Polymeropoulos.mp3 Marc Polymeropoulos is a retired CIA officer from the Senior intelligence service ranks. He served for years in the intelligence community, in the operational field and leadership assignments. He’s an expert in counterterrorism, covert action, and Human Intelligence Collection. As one of the CIA’s most decorated field officers, Marc honed a unique style of leadership based on decision making under pressure, inclusivity, camaraderie, and competition. He’s the author of Clarity in Crisis: Leadership Lessons from the CIA. Marc Polymeropoulos has a goal to pass on his knowledge to people in the sports and business world who could benefit from his unique experiences serving his country in the hotspots of the world. In this episode, Marc and I discuss: How Marc got into the CIA—and why he wants people to get excited about serving their country, whether it’s at the local, state, or federal level How his mom put him on an airplane by himself at age ten, and he flew from JFK Airport to Paris alone—then his dad drove them miles through the Sahara Desert (and this is what got Marc hooked on the Middle East) Principles on how to lead elite teams in times of crisis and how to deal with fear and uncertainty from a leadership perspective The process of recruiting a foreigner, a spy, and getting someone to betray their own country, by identifying their motivations How Marc was the base chief in Afghanistan for a year with 20 Americans and 1,000 Afghan indigenous fighters—and how being deployed taught him humility  How everyone at the CIA wants to be promoted quickly, but there’s something to be said for a slower, more methodical rise—because nothing beats experience Marc’s thoughts on Pineapple Express and how the U.S. blundered the exit from Afghanistan   Marc Polymeropoulos also shares how he had “a really awful end of his career,” due to Havana Syndrome. He got physically sick and experienced a loss of cognitive abilities, and didn’t get the help he needed.  “I was a highly decorated officer, rising to the top. I didn’t want to retire, but I had to,” he says. The clear leadership lesson for any organization is that, “You’ve got to take care of your people. And unfortunately, the CIA didn’t take care of me when I needed them most. It was a moral betrayal for me.”   Links & Resources The Successful Mind Podcast on YouTube – Episode 555 –  A Conversation with Marc Polymeropoulos Clarity in Crisis: Leadership Lessons from the CIA CNN Interview w/ Kylie Atwood & Marc Polymeropoulos Get Social with Marc!      Twitter          LinkedIn       Great leaders are born out of diffcult situations. The Terror Barrier: The Gateway to Success

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_554-Mindset_Mondays-Terror_Barrier.mp3 Whenever you’re about to do something new, your subconscious mind will often create a circumstance or problem to distract you. It will try to get you to stop taking action. It does this, because it’s trying to protect you from the unknown. This phenomenon is known as the terror barrier. Growth is littered with terror barriers. Every time you do something to advance, you’ll always have something new to face. “New level, new devil.” It’s estimated that 80% of businesses fail within their first five years, and this is due to the terror barrier. It’s because the owner refuses to do things that are required for growth and which are outside their comfort zone. In this episode Steph and I discuss: How everyone has a terror barrier—and it develops at an early age Why 80% of people who go to personal development seminars never do anything with the information they learn (due to the terror barrier) How we, as parents, pass along our insecurities, terror barriers, and what we think we can’t do to our children, to try to protect them—and how this makes them less effective at life How the subconscious mind gets you to agree with the problem that seems to be in front of you, so that you’ll quit Steph’s skydiving experience in her 20s—and how “nothing could have prepared her for the onslaught of thoughts that plagued her as she was in the plane” How stepping through the discomfort and into possibility makes you feel better   Plus, I share the details of how I knew my marriage wouldn’t make it back in 1993—and how my own terror barrier was around that relationship (and divorce). I realized my ex-wife and I were on completely different tracks in life, headed for two different destinations. Vulnerability: Is It Good For Business?

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_554-Mindset_Mondays-Vulnerability.mp3 Being in business requires vulnerability. In fact, vulnerability is an essential part of growing. You’re vulnerable just picking up the phone and making sales calls. To get from 6 figures to 7 figures a year or higher, you need to create the right team. In order to build a team that stands behind you, you have to be vulnerable in your leadership. You must create a culture and environment in which your team can also be vulnerable with you, share ideas, innovate, and not be afraid to make mistakes. The fear of vulnerability is why many business owners don’t grow. People walk around with fear and anxiety, because they’re afraid to be vulnerable. Often, they were raised in an abusive or toxic environment. So they don’t know how to be vulnerable. By learning this skill set, you can bring calm, peace, and joy to yourself every day. In this episode, we discuss:   How NOT being vulnerable is like wearing armor, putting up a shield, self protecting, and not letting anyone see what’s under the armor How low retention rates are a huge problem for many businesses, and team turnover is really expensive, both in time and money What it takes to cultivate an environment that retains a team and builds a business  How most people are conflict averse and try to avoid conflict—but as a business owner, you have to learn to embrace conflict Why you must communicate your EXACT expectations to your team (which is also vulnerable—because what will people think of your expectations?) Why your relationships shouldn’t based on assumptions   You can’t innovate without vulnerability. You need to have bad ideas and make mistakes in order to innovate. Being vulnerable requires being courageous. You must be willing to open yourself up to whatever happens. Choose courage over fear. Are Your “Rules” Helping or Hurting Your Success?

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_552-Are_Your_Rules_Helping_or_Hurting_Your_Success_.mp3 We all have certain rules in place that we follow in our life, yet we’ve never questioned where they came from. We have rules about which foods we’ll eat, what places we’ll travel to, and which experiences we’ll allow ourselves to have (or not have). From the cars we buy, to the lipstick we wear, to how we make pot roast—rules control our lives, even if we’re not aware of them and even if they’re illogical. This conversation was inspired by our team’s discussion of the topic, “foods we would never eat.” Particularly—chocolate chip cookies dipped in apple juice. In today’s episode, Steph and I discuss:   How we pick up behaviors, ideas, and ideologies from our parents while we’re growing up—and how many of these rules aren’t based on anything other than a belief How your subconscious mind uses RULES to keep you from doing what you want to do, having what you want to have, and experiencing incredible things that you might not even know you’re missing out on How rules can be unspoken, yet are handed down from one generation to the next, with no rhyme or reason as to why they exist How Steph never tried a banana until her 20s—because her mother hated them and made a face every time someone brought them up How Brandon didn’t get contact lenses for years, simply because his mom never had contacts (he changed this after Steph questioned him about it) How 7-figure business owners follow hidden rules about leadership that hamper their growth and suck their joy How as a kid, I was fascinated with Europe—and my father always told me, “You don’t want to go to Europe” (yet he’d never been there)   What rules do you follow? Why are you following them? Where are you letting someone else’s belief control your actions? What ideas did you take on that you never challenged? Developing rules is a way of staying safe and in control. Rules give us a level of certainty about something, even if it’s not true. In business, rules often create a value conflict that holds you back from growth—like not wanting to spend money on certain things, not wanting to go into debt, and not wanting to be “irresponsible” with money.   Links & Resources You Still Have Time to Join Us for The Art of Success Summit. –> CLICK HERE The Successful Mind Podcast on YouTube – Episode 552:  Are Your “Rules” Helping or Hurting Your Success? The Illusion of Growth

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_551-The_Illusion_of_Growth.mp3 Are you under the illusion that you’re moving forward, experiencing growth, but nothing seems to be changing? A Conversation with LTC Scott Mann (US Army, Retired)

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_550-Scott_Mann.mp3 Scott Mann is a retired lieutenant colonel who spent 23 years in the United States Army, 18 of which were as a Green Beret, the US Army Special Forces. He was a member of seventh Special Forces Group, working in Central and South America. I spoke with Scott Mann about his experiences in Afghanistan after the September 11, 2001 attacks, as well as his thoughts on the recent withdrawal from Afghanistan, and how people were left behind. That event felt like a slap in the face to the American people and to the military, yet nobody is talking about it. Our senior leaders, political leaders, and even our generals aren’t acknowledging these issues. If people talk about it, their careers are being ended. Recruiting and retention for the U.S. military is in the toilet. 73% of veterans feel betrayed by the Afghan departure and the abandonment of our allies (there’s been an 81% spike in the VA hotline since August). All of this indicates we’ve got a serious leadership crisis on our hands. In this episode, Scott and I discuss: How the world shifted for the special operations community and Green Beret community after 9/11 The mental health challenges, suicides, post-traumatic stress, survivor’s guilt, TBI, and now COVID challenges that veterans have experienced, especially Vietnam veterans How some military officers and senior officers are basically politicians who have succumbed to the corrosiveness of power and careerism  How Al Qaida is reconstituting Afghanistan, and turning it back into a terrorist state How the United States has “lost our myth”—we no longer have a unifying, national myth that brings people together; storytelling is what binds us and gives us our sense of self How our current narrative is based on factions, tribalism, and divisiveness meant to stir up fear and anger  Scott Mann still has a lot of optimism about this country. He believes our best days are still in front of us. But it starts with us. Nobody else is coming. Leadership will come from the bottom up—from moms and dads, brothers and sisters, leaders, veterans, and business owners in a civil society. There needs to be accountability, personal ownership, lessons learned, mistakes acknowledged, corrections and adjustments made regarding what happened in Afghanistan. Links & Resources The Successful Mind Podcast on YouTube – Episode 550 –  A Conversation with LTC Scott Mann (Ret.) ScottMann.com Operation Pineapple Express Last Out: Elegy of a Green Beret Looking to take your mindset to the next level?  Be sure to stop over on The Successful Mind Podcast Channel on YouTube for EXCLUSIVE content that you won’t find anywhere in your audio podcast feed.  You can currently binge an entire series where David takes you through high level teachings around Raymond Holliwell’s classic book, Working With the Law.  If you’re ready to take the next step in exploring the Universal Laws and mindset it requires to be a huge success you’ll want to check this series out. Divine Timing: Is There Such a Thing?

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_549-Mindset_Mondays-Timing_Is_Everything.mp3 Timing is one of the biggest reasons why someone won’t take action on a goal they have right now. People often use divine timing as an excuse not to take action. It may appear as though God is saying, “Nope, this is the wrong time,” or, “This isn’t the right time.” But that is superstition. The truth is, you have the power to change any situation in your life, right now. Fear and ignorance get in the way of us creating the life we really want. Everyone has the same amount of time. The only time is now. If we’re not focused on the now, we’re either projecting into the future (worrying or escaping), or we’re dealing with a memory of the past (reminiscing). Neither one exists. In this episode, Steph Tuss and I discuss:   Why so many people are terrified of the present, because they have anxiety and don’t know what to do right now How worrying is the act of using your imagination incorrectly—people worry because they don’t know how to control their mind, and they don’t understand the laws of the universe  How people who were raised to be religious often weren’t taught that God is inside you—and we’re often taught to look outside of ourselves for everything How opportunity rarely shows up at “the right time” Why we need to get past superstition if we want to be successful What divine timing”really means and why people use it as an excuse   The idea of divine timing is superstition in the sense that there is a divinity outside of yourself. YOU are the divinity. You’re responsible for creating the life you want. We determine our own divine timing.   Links & Resources Learn more about The Art of Success Summit HERE The Successful Mind Podcast on YouTube – Episode 549:  Divine Timing: Is There Such a Thing Think & Grow Rich The Successful Mind Podcast Episode #151 – Divine Timing The Successful Mind Podcast Inside Episode #151 The Successful Mind Podcast Episode #2 – The Laws of the Universe The Successful Mind Podcast Episode #375 – Business & The Universal Laws You were BORN to be a success! Is This a Sign I’m Headed in the Wrong Direction?

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/content.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM_Episode_547-Mindset_Mondays-Psychological_Safety.mp3 Whenever something bad happens, you might be tempted to think it’s the universe giving you a “sign” that you’re headed in the wrong direction. That’s actually not the case. When you set a big goal, make a decision to do something new, or take a risk in business—crazy stuff often shows up. This may seem like God or the universe is trying to stop you. But it’s actually your subconscious mind engaging in a sabotage pattern, trying to get you to quit. The universe doesn’t have a sense of humor. Nor is it “testing” you or giving you a big “clue.” There’s no old white guy in the sky or grand wizard behind the scenes, directing everything with puppet strings. Your mind is just hyper programmed to ask, “What does this mean?” Your subconscious mind wants to give meaning to everything, so that you can define it—which then tells you how to create a pattern to react to it, so that you don’t have to think about it. In today’s episode, Steph and I discuss:   A text Steph got from a client who was shocked when someone asked for a refund (was this a “test”?) How to determine if you’re on the wrong path—and what the hidden meaning is in all the chaos showing up in your life  How people look for validation outside themselves to figure out if they’re making the right decision and doing the right thing All the crazy sh*t that happened in Steph’s life when she first made the decision to coach with me Why negative things show up after you make a decision to do something new—and how this is your subconscious programming hijacking your focus  Why personal responsibility is a MUST if you want any sort of success in life (complaining and being a victim is the exact opposite of personal responsibility) Why there are no “signs”—because you’ll see whatever you’re programmed to see, and you’ll interpret it however you’re programmed to interpret it   Chaos usually shows up when you’re stuck in a state of indecision or limbo. That’s when you create your own personal hell. Once you make a firm decision, all the chaos stops. What you call a “problem” in your life exists only because you’re giving it energy. You’re literally creating the problem; it’s just an illusion.   Links & Resources Learn more about The Art of Success Summit HERE The Successful Mind Podcast on YouTube – Episode 548:  Is This a Sign I’m Headed in the Wrong Direction?
