This week, we’re sharing a special clip from a recent episode of a podcast we love, rePROs Fight Back, where Madeline Morcelle, Senior Attorney at the National Health Law Program, breaks down why Medicaid is essential to sexual and reproductive healthcare—and what’s at stake with proposed funding cuts. Medicaid currently insures over 72 million people, covering critical reproductive health services like family planning, pregnancy-related care, and abortion (within Hyde Amendment exceptions). But with massive budget cuts on the table, millions of low-income individuals—especially Black, Indigenous, and other people of color, people with disabilities, LGBTQ+ individuals, and young people—could see their access to care drastically reduced.
