JFS20: Cherry Falls

It's a Junk Food Supper miracle! We kick off Schlocktober with the movie they said we'd never do -- Cherry Falls! First, Sean and Parker discuss their trip to the Mojave desert. What meals were eaten, what signage was seen and what bands were heard? Then, they discuss a classic Halloween match between Japanese wrestlers Leatherface and Freddy Crueger. Finally, we discuss Cherry Falls, a 2000 slasher movie released straight to TV because it was too hot for theaters. Does that make sense? Not really, but Brittany Murphy and Jay Mohr are in it! JFS19: Alien From L.A.

JFS co-host Parker Bowman *claims* to be a lover of Kathy Ireland, but does his love extend all the way back to her first film role, or extend all the way down to the center of the earth? We'll find out this week, as we test the limits of what could reasonably be called a Jules Verne film with 1988's Cannon Films adaptation of Journey to the Center of the Earth, Alien From L.A.! But first! We got two (count 'em) tasty segments up top! First, we run down the top ten movies of the summer and compare them to the predictions we made earlier in the year! Then, we chat about the most important day in baseball history: 1994's MTV Rock & Jock game! So #DonloydNow and enjoy this bite-sized Junk Food Supper. We got all this plus no Kelly Slater surf ranch report (sadly), late nite antics from the west coast boys, the thrilling and exciting results of the summer movie wager, christopher nolan's irksome hubris, robo shenji, moby, long-butted mascots, rocking and jocking in '94 (til infinity), anna nicole smith in the background showing her boobs from time to time, blurps, bleeps, bloops and so much more!! JFD667: Titicut Follies, Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, Song of the Blind Girl

Junk Food Dinner is back and this month we cautiously dip our toes back into the Ghoul Summer waters with three semi-ghoulish creep flicks! Up first, we get a first-hand look at the grim and sad lives of inmates of a Massachusetts mental asylum in the 60's in the avant garde, black & white documentary Titicut Follies from 1967.Then, Michael Rooker makes his film debut in the low-budget look into the life of a murderous psychopath, his equally psychotic roommate and his innocent sister in 1986's Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer. And finally, an Iraq/Afghanistan War veteran returns home with a screw loose and kidnaps two young girls he believes are his daughters in the ultra-low-budget Song of the Blind Girl from 2011. All this plus Kevin's adventures in movie-going, Sean's trip to Boston, Halloween junk food of 2023, upcoming Jekyll & Hyde news, a new Dune book and so much more!LISTEN NOW:MP3 Direct DonloydAlso, if you like the show, please take a minute and subscribe and/or comment on us on iTunes, Stitcher, Blubrry or Podfeed.net. JFS18: Exploitation

Is this going to be a Ghoul Summer? Yes! Sean is in Boston, Texas and filling in for him is a special guest -- it's my wife! We try to display her lack of remembering any movie she has ever seen and it only goes slightly well. And then we get to the Ghoul stuff. We review "Exploitation," a 2018 Bill Zebub movie that is about ... Bill Zebub. Zebub plays an exploitation movie director who deals with wacky fans, stubborn starlets, Ilsa, the Shewolf od the SS and romance! All this plus Shinji snoring. No voicemails this week as we didn't have the right technology. Also, sorry if the sound is iffy from time to time. We were drunk and sharing a mic! Direct Donloyd Here.

JFS17: Everybody Wants Some!!

Everybody Wants Supper!! This week, the boys are back and ready to play ball. Your hosts discuss the good, the bad and the weird of baseball media. Fond memories are shared. More memories are made and the national passtime is celebrated. Dan Cortez is also discussed in 2023 somehow. Then, the boys review the 2016 Richard Linklater film, "Everybody Wants Some!!," a spiritual sequel to both "Dazed and Confused" and "Boyhood." It has everything -- short shorts, end credit raps, stoner chat, Twilight Zone tapes and everything else, but very little baseball. All this plus Parker decieves his wife, Sean fails to decieve Parker, Tom from Adelaide calls in and so much more!   JFS co-host Parker Bowman *claims* to be a lover of spelunking, but does his love extend all the way back to the golden age of Australian made-for-TV cartoon movie adaptations? We'll find out this week, as we test the limits of half-assed Hannah Barbera styles with 1977's Australian adaptation of A Journey to the Center of the Earth! But first! JFD Rewind #10 - The Bookhouse Boys

It's time for JFD Rewind Episode Number TEN! The Bookhouse Boys edition!! As we perfunctorily/redundantly explain at the head of each of these all-too-frequent compilation clip shows, your charming Junk Food Dinner hosts are unwilling and/or unable to perform their regular duties in this very hectic non-holiday time period. However, as has been explained prior, this inability to produce a new weekly show does not preclude us from our obligation to deliver some form of audio content to the feed. So it's come to this again: yet another?!!?!!$@!#! Junk Food Dinner clip show. As we're fond of both the elements of surprise and laziness, we usually forgo the usual descriptors here as to what the actual contents of this cut-and-pasted effort truly are, thinking that if you're the sort of curious cat who'd actually donloyd this thing, you'll listen along with us and discover what made the cut for the latest hastily slapped together compilation. And if not, you could still pretend you did and probably fool us. But this time is different! We'll tell you straight-up what we're up to: we've curated all four episodes from the first season of Parker and Sean's spin-off series THE BOOKHOUSE BOYS (an unofficial Twin Peaks podcast). Be dazzled and amazed as we delve through all episodes of the first season of the show, and Parker delves into the depths of his very soul. If y'all love what ya hear, sign up for our Patreon thing to throw us a few bones (in exchange for some boners). We're already reviewing Season 2 over there! All this plus witty banter between friends, talk show banter, beast mode Kevin does not make an appearance, zero Nerd Newsies, no week's DVD & blu-ray releases, partial confidentiality, continued lack of overt police involvement, screeches, musical interludes, drippy noses, wanton sneezes, spooky belches, whistling dixie, sinister gleeks and just enough more! Direct Donloyd Here Got a movie suggestion for the show, want to give your opinion on a movie we talked about or just want to tell us we suck? Drop us a line at JFDPodcast@gmail.com. Or leave us a voicemail: 347-746-JUNK (5865). Also, if you like the show, please take a minute and subscribe and/or comment on us on iTunes, Stitcher, Blubrry or Podfeed.net. We'd love to see some of your love on Patreon - it's super easy and fun to sign up for the extra bonus content. We'll fix the percolator for your love and support.
