Episode 063: What we learned at the 2024 Massage Myotherapy Australia Conference
Jackie and David went to a conference. Yah! Of course you already knew that, because we told you about it it every chance we got. So what was it like?
Conferences in any profession are a chance to learn - that's why you go to them. But they are just as importantly a place to form friends and build collegiate spirit. You know, make friends with other people who are on a similar journey to you.
The 2024 Massage and Myotherapy Conference was held in Tweed Heads with theme of "Set Yourself Apart". We heard from Stuart Hinds and Brendan Cole on working in a high performance environment, heard from Professor Jon Adams about growing the body of knowledge in academic research, participated in a seminar on posture, heard a case study by Andrea Pluck on lymphedema massage in recovery from head and neck cancer, updates on the Practitioner Certification program, and attended a master class on treating frozen shoulder.
In this special episode (requested by a listener), we reflect on what we learned and took away and why attending face to face conferences and seminars is good for the soul.
