#33 / Mme Vendredi on seduction magick, servitors & sigils for Desire. Djinn stories

For episode #33 of the Plus show we are joined by Mademoiselle Vendredi. Mademoiselle Vendredi began her earliest foray into the world of magick around the age of ten when she stumbled on a book in a local library on the history of superstitions, witches and ghosts. Trying to summon a storm using a piece of cord and looking for evidence of the Evil Eye in a glass of water in which oil had been poured came as naturally to her as making up imaginary Gods and praying to them for something magickal to happen. High school brought into sharp relief her "desires to be noticed and adored by the guys in the popular crowd" which is how she discovered her penchant for Magickal head turning. Since then, a significant focus of her practice has been dedicated to Magickal seduction and enchantments of illusions, love and material and carnal desire. To achieve her aims, she uses Servitors and Sigils to create a 'great veil of fascination' and to remove "obstacles to attraction". In the Plus show we talk Djinns and having grown up in the Middle East Mademoiselle Vendredi has plenty to share on subject.   Show notes: https://www.instagram.com/mme.vendredi/ Keep in touch? #32 / Wilmar Taal on 'The Gnome Manuscript'

For Episode #32 show we welcome Wilmar Taal to discuss, The Gnome Manuscript and its creator, J.H.W. Eldermans. The Gnome Manuscript is a part of a set of three books including, The Gnome Grimoire and The Gnome Compendium, the later two being due for publication with Troy Books.  All three are based on the works of J.H.W. Eldermans concerning gnomes. The original source manuscript is lost but a copy is held in the Museum of witchcraft and magic at Boscastle. The artwork in the manuscript is remarkable, some of which you can see in the YouTube version of the podcast.  It’s worth having a look to get a sense of the complexity of this work. We discuss the elusive and complicated figure that is Eldermans. We discuss the importance of stories, place and community in our lives. In relation to Gnomes Wilmar proposes the areas most associated with Gnome mythology were previously lands of Celtic tribes and a residual belief of those people. Wilmar also reveals an unexpected possible origin myth of the Gnomes. Witte Wieven, also make an appearance. Translated the White woman who have almost identical mythology to the Banshee and Wilmar warns that if you see a Witte Wieven you have to run, they are not friendly. In the Plus show we further discuss what was Eldermans trying to achieve with the book and the stories about his engagement with local people regarding the Gnomes and a secret grimoire Eldermans penned covering a remarkable range of occult subjects, hinting at an ambition of producing a larger body of work of which the Gnome manuscript was a part. Wilmar goes on to discuss the sexual component to Eldermans work and what his view of magick was and what was needed to practice it. We also go through a story around Eldermans connections with Occult groups. If that sounds like it floats your boat join the Patreon  and you'll get access to all previous Plus shows and much more. #30 / Stephanie Connolly on Demonolatry and the nature of Demons

For Episode 30 we welcome Stephanie Connolly. Stephanie   is an American author of books about Daemonolatry and magick. She has been practicing Daemonic Magick since 1984, and has been an initiated Daemonolatress since 1990. She is actively practicing and has over 35 years experience in Goetia and grimoiric magick as well as traditional craft. Also a Rosicrucian, she holds a Master of Metaphysics from ULC Seminary. She has taught online classes in Qabbalah, Gematria, Magick, Daemonolatry and Meditation since 1999 and regularly speaks at conventions, trade shows, and conferences on a variety of topics. She is one of the foremost experts on the topic of Daemonolatry and the author of over 25 books about Daemonolatry specifically, including the bestselling The Complete Book of Demonolatry. In the conversation we get into Demonolatry as a practice of self development, the nature of demons as divine intelligences and her own metaphysical experiences.  We talk about the creative spark and how her practice has given her the discipline to write over 80 books. Which is just an incredible achievement. An interesting note from the conversation is Stephanie’s views on what Demons are and what they aren’t. She makes a clear distinction between them and energy eaters which is how she describes parasitic entities. I think this is an important distinction and one that is often missed in conventional western spiritual thinking In the Plus show we discuss what demons get from us in exchange. What possession means from the Demonalatry perspective and more pointedly how magick and real long term change means commitment and hard work. #28 / Jerry Marzinsky, Schizophrenia and parasitic entities

Joining us on the Spirit Box for episode 28 is Jerry Marzinsky. Prior to retirement, Jerry was a licensed psychotherapist. He has over 35 years of experience working with schizophrenic and other psychiatric patients in state hospitals, state prisons, and hospital emergency rooms. Jerry’s formal academic training comprises a B.A. in Psychology from Temple University, a Master’s Degree in Counseling from the University of Georgia, and two years of study in a Ph.D. Psychology program. This show is quite an important one for me after my own experiences and research and I had previously cited Jerry in my own lectures juxtaposing his testimony against the concepts of Obsession and Waswas. You can find that lecture in the show notes.  Jerry outlines his journey from the conventional psychiatric understanding of schizophrenia as an internal problem to a position of believing it to be an external one. An external one that is the result of parasitic entities that prey on human beings. In the first hour he describes the patterns he spotted in patients throughout his career that led him to his position and in his opinion the failings of conventional psychiatric treatments. He goes on to describe his conversation with the entities themselves through his patients and their warnings to him culminating in a startling experience that left him deeply shaken. In the Plus version for Patrons we get deeper still and talk about how entities can work with their hosts to reveal hidden knowledge. Hidden knowledge which often leads to poor life choices and destructive behavior. We discuss the impact of Meth use and why prisoners call it ‘the Devils drug’. Jerry goes on to detail how intrusive thoughts affect us all and how these entities access our memories to use them against us and what our defence is against these parasites and their intrusion. You can join the patron via the links below. At 33 minutes the connection went and I got booted from the call so you will hear a drop out. As you no doubt know with this kind of subject matter this is a regular occurrence. OK just a warning, there are references to serious mental health, self harm and suicide that some listeners may find upsetting. I want to be clear that the object of this show is the exploration of ideas and to listen to the testimony of Mr Marsinsky and not to diminish any individual's personal experiences. Joining us on the Spirit Box for episode 26 is Michael Lichens. Michael holds an MA in Religion and Literature from the University of Chicago and spends much of his time studying overlooked spiritual experiences when he isn't busy revising and editing. He is the editor of The Catholic Exchange and resides in Colorado where you can often find him discussing preachers, ghosts, and churches of the Old West. We will be discussing the book “The Devil is Afraid of Me: The Life and Works of the World’s Most Popular Exorcist.” by angelologist Father Marcello Stanzione. The book narrates the true story of Father Gabriele Amorth, the former chief exorcist of the vatican who performed more than sixty thousand exorcisms over a thirty-year period in Rome. The book details the experiences Fr Amorth had during his career like the windows icing over during an exorcism in summertime in Rome, dealing the results of magical attacks and some startling manifestations including a possessed young man producing nails from his mouth. We compare elements of the accounts and techniques detailed with the Islamic equivalent and look at the reasons while individuals can be open to obsessions and possession and discuss the fate of fallen angels from both the catholic and fairy lore perspectives. #24 / Joshua Cutchin & Timothy Renner on 'Where the Footprints End: High Strangeness and the Bigfoot Phenomenon'.

This week we are joined by Joshua Cutchin and Timothy Renner to discuss the book they co-authored, ‘Where the Footprints End’, an exploration into the high strangeness surrounding the bigfoot phenomena. Joshua is an author and musician, and a well known figure in paranormal circles having appeared on some of the best known paranormal podcasts out there. Timothy is also a musician and author and on top of that he's a brilliant illustrator and host of the superb Strange familiars podcast.  So, what’s the premise of the book? Despite their apparently physical nature, bigfoot and its hairy hominid kin consistently appear mired in High Strangeness—the peculiar, ineffable, and nonsensical absurdities so often encountered in paranormal phenomena. Some sightings seem more consistent with mythology than biology. Bigfoot often present supernatural attributes, like luminescent eyes or the ability to pass, ghostlike, through structures. Anomalous lights are regularly seen in areas of frequent sasquatch activity. Footprints persistently, if rarely, display odd numbered toes, and—most bafflingly—bigfoot trackways suddenly terminate in the middle of open, untouched terrain. In Volume 1 of Where the Footprints End: High Strangeness and the Bigfoot Phenomenon, authors Joshua Cutchin and Timothy Renner carefully examine not only the intersection of hairy apemen with global folklore—of poltergeists, faeries, extraterrestrials, magic, witches, ghosts, and archetypal women-in-white—but also question the fundamental assumptions underlying contemporary cryptozoological beliefs surrounding bigfoot.
