We discussed the demands of AFL and the common injuries seen, the footwear worn and the challenges it brings and the screening process adopted within the 44-man squads.

This weeks guest was Howard Dananberg. In this episode Howard tells us how he first starting thinking about sagittal plane mechanics in the context of 'functional hallux limitus' and how this influenced his practice over the last three decades.

This weeks guest was Stuart Wildman, Stuart is an Extended Scope Physiotherapist, MSK Sonographer and Director of The Ultrasound Site Ltd. In this episode we talked about some of the politics and training regarding ultrasound use, the benefits and limitations of ultrasound, and the tissues/pathologies that can be visualised around the foot and ankle (with some cool images/case studies).

In this episode we welcome representatives from three professional associations: Katrina Pratt; President - Australian Podiatry Association. Matthew Fitzpatrick; Provost - College of Podiatry. Ben Lamb; Chairman - Podiatry New Zealand. We discussed the differences between the sizes of the three (yet the rather similar challenged faced) and touched on the bidirectional responsibilities (of the oranisations to the members, and the members to the organisations), the level 'engagement' from all parties, and where the professional bodies may see themselves in 5 years time.

This weeks guest was Jill Halstead and we talked about the definition of (and terminology and language used around) osteoarthritis, along with its prevalance, relation to load and the treatment options of its manifestation in the human foot.

We discussed why critical thinking, biases, and why having the ability and desire to question/critique everything we read is crucial to improving the entire profession of Podiatry. We talk about common logical fallacies and errors in thinking, and highlight the behaviours seen from certain individuals when they are questioned or challenged.
