Episode 59: Threads Takes On Twitter; Jonah Hill "Cancellation" Attempt & the Publicizing of Private Affairs; NY Times Fake News Hit Piece on Clarence Thomas; Rolling Stone Comes Out in Support of Child Traffickers

Meta releases Threads - the first true challenge to Twitter's supremacy as the "digital town square". What was the thinking behind Threads? Will it spell the end for Twitter? Who is using Threads so far and how?Jonah Hill's ex-girlfriend releases a batch of private texts supposedly showing him to be abusive and it's got the digital sphere talking. Another example of how we no longer know where to draw the line between Private & Public.NY Times publishes a hit piece suggesting Clarence Thomas is irretrievably corrupt. Upon review, the piece is a clear "Fake News" missive making grossly false allegations against the Supreme Court Justice.Strange week for the media - publishing pieces on how "fitness makes you right wing" and in support of....birth control and child trafficking? I analyze some truly odd pieces from NBC, MSNBC, and Rolling Stone. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Episode 58: Exposing the Waste & Dysfunction of "Diversity Equity & Inclusion" Programs in Corporate America - with Conor Friedersdorf of The Atlantic

"Diversity", "Equity", & "Inclusion" are seemingly separate principles. However, the terms have been lumped together, co-opted by an industry of professionals, and implanted bureaucratically in Corporate America. With expensive "DEI Consultants" renting themselves out to companies, and "DEI Executives" occupying lofty (and expensive) positions at major corporations, no one seemed to ever ask the question "Does any of this stuff actually work?". Conor Friedersdorf of The Atlantic has taken a deeper look at companies scrutinizing these programs (and personnel) and starting to wonder if they're getting their bang for their buck.  Learn more about your ad choices. Episode 57: Understanding "ESG" - The Faulty Social Credit Score for Corporate America - with Haley Kennington

Originally intended to measure strict environmental impact, "Environment Social Governance" or "ESG" scores are now used by financial institutions to reward and punish companies based on their supposed ethics. But are these scores actually measuring the right things? When Phillip Morris earns an ESG score multiples of Tesla - despite making a product that is literally killing people - it appears safe to say that the scoring system is broken. Haley Kennington of Wrong Speak has been studying how ESG scores have become nothing more than intimidation rackets for progressive institutions to bully companies into aligning with their political agenda. She joins me this episode to discuss.  Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Episode 56: The "Disinformation" War: The Unholy Alliance of the National Security State & Big Tech Against the American People - with Jacob Seigel

The battle against ISIS and Vladimir Putin's invasion of Crimea in 2014 woke up the American national security apparatus to the notion of "hybrid war" - the impact of social media activity on battlefield results. Beginning with the election of Donald Trump in 2016, this national security apparatus was aimed away from external enemies and turned inwards against American citizens - any of those deemed to be engaging in "Disinformation". "Disinformation" formerly meant to refer to false information, *deliberately* planted by a foreign government. It is now a term used to refer to nearly any false or simply disfavored view or opinion. The national intelligence services, in cahoots with Big Tech (Google, Twitter, Facebook - staffed HEAVILY with former intelligence officers) activated against any citizen engaging in wrong think - whether it was the idea that Donald Trump won without Russian interference, that the COVID-19 virus leaked from a lab, or that Hunter Biden's laptop was real and contained newsworthy info. Jacob Siegel is an Iraq War veteran and senior editor of Tablet Magazine. He has written the definitive piece summarizing the Unholy Alliance of the National Security State and Big Tech fighting the "War on Disinformation".....against the American people. He joined me this week to discuss.  Learn more about your ad choices. How ADHD and other disorders have become "cultures" and "communities" that define people's identities The role of pharmaceutical companies and bureaucratic rewards incentivizing claims of ADHD and other disorders How "Safetyism" (the prioritization of emotional comfort over all things) is impeding solutions Freddie's criticism of social shaming (i.e., "cancel culture") from a progressive, left-wing perspective  The rage of the "creative underclass" Learn more about your ad choices.
