Duane Sheriff teaches that "You cannot serve God under New Testament grace with Old Testament law—they don't mix." If you don't understand law vs. grace, you will serve God through guilt and condemnation instead of experiencing God's unconditional love and freedom.The purpose of the law was to reveal sin and reveal our need for a Savior, not to earn God's love or blessings. Jesus fulfilled the law on our behalf, making us righteous through faith alone, independent of works or performance. Grace produces intimacy and a relationship with God rather than guilt and condemnation. God's unconditional love empowers us to live a holy life motivated by love rather than fear of punishment. You cannot do anything to make God love you more, and you cannot do anything to make Him love you less. 

1 Corinthians 15 states, "The strength of sin is the law." Duane Sheriff teaches that the Old Testament law paradoxically strengthened our sin by exposing our inability to meet God's perfect standard. When we try to be righteous through our efforts, we remain under sin's strength and the law's curse. Many mistakenly believe they can earn God's love by perfectly following the rules, but the law functions like a mirror, revealing our sinful nature and driving us to recognize our need for Jesus. But grace is more powerful than sin! By placing our faith in Jesus instead of trusting our good works, God sees us as completely forgiven. This is grace—God's unearned love and acceptance—freeing us from the need to earn His blessings through perfect behavior. True transformation comes not from self-righteous obedience but from embracing God's grace, which overpowers sin's strength and grants us victory through Christ alone.

Do you live under the law, or do you live under grace? This message contrasts the concept of grace with the law and performance-based Christianity. The purpose of the law was to reveal sin, making us guilty and unable to earn God's favor through perfect behavior. Grace, however, breaks the power of sin through Jesus. While many Christians believe grace merely covers their sins, Brother Duane teaches that grace "sets the course for your life and connects you to your destiny and your authority."Grace isn't about our performance for God - it's about what God has already done for us through Jesus Christ. Embrace grace and trust in God's promises rather than relying on your own performance.
