Art Viterito is a retired Professor of Geography who taught at the University of Pittsburgh, the George Washington University and the College of Southern Maryland.  Art received his Ph.D. from the University of Denver with specialties in climatology, physical geography, and geographic information systems. He has published research in the areas of urban climatology and global climate change. His work in urban climatology was cited in the first report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and his most recent work on the role of oceanic geothermal heat in modulating climate has been cited by the Nongovernmental International Panel on Climate Change. Art is a member of the National Association of Scholars, and is a policy advisor to the Heartland Institute.
