Astana 2021 Preview

Our Preview of Astana-Premier Tech, a team built around 2019's best cyclist, Jakob Fuglsang as well as the mercurial Alexey Lutsenko and young gun Aleksandr Vlasov. Not so great on the cobbles, but elite in the ardennes and one week races, I think Astana will bounce back this year with some big wins as well as Vlasov potentially getting his first grand tour podium. We also have an interview with Astana Premier Tech's Managing Director Yana Seel, to discuss some of the background details about the business of cycling and managing a World Tour team.LRCP Show Partner | https://lecol.cc/Time stamps as requested you're welcome:Introduction | 0:002020 Season Review | 1:10Jakob Fuglsang Discussion | 2:20Transfers | 7:46Leaders review | 14:29Cobbled Team | 20:57Ardennes Team | 24:40Grand Tour Teams | 28:35Lutsenko Olympic Chances | 34:18Season Predictions | 37:30Interview w/ Yana Seel | 42:18You can always listen to our podcast on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcast and Anchor. 📱Benji Naesenhttps://www.instagram.com/benjinaesen https://twitter.com/BenjiNaesen https://www.youtube.com/c/BenjiNaesenBELanterne Rougehttps://www.instagram.com/the_lanterne_rouge_ https://twitter.com/LanterneRougeYT https://www.youtube.com/c/LanterneRougeCyclingThanks for listening! 💛 Hosted on Acast. Deceuninck 2021 Preview

Lanterne and Benji preview what to expect from Deceuninck-Quick-Step in 2021, including their new signings, riders out of contract (basically everyone) what their strengths and weaknesses are and who should be their leaders for the monuments and grand tours. Perhaps a season of change for DQS in 2021, with some warning in 2020 with Almeida in pink for 15 days, but on paper their classics squad does not look to be the strongest in the world whilst their Grand Tour potential is on the rise.Benji Naesenhttps://www.instagram.com/benjinaesenhttps://twitter.com/BenjiNaesenhttps://www.youtube.com/c/BenjiNaesenBELanterne Rougehttps://www.instagram.com/the_lanterne_rouge_https://twitter.com/LanterneRougeYThttps://www.youtube.com/c/LanterneRougeCyclingThanks for listening! 💛 Hosted on Acast. Marc Hirschi's Shock Departure From Team DSM

Here I am trying to get some easy ZZZ's in January when there is no racing going on and the next thing I know I receive a Whatsapp message from Benji at 3 in the morning and my phone is blowing up once I wake up later because Marc Hirschi, the Swiss Phenom, has had his contract terminated with Team DSM (formerly known as Sunweb) on January 5th. No reason has been given for his contract being terminated by either side, nor any other team confirmed as his next team. All very odd but somewhat in keeping with the way Team DSM has operated the last few years. Benji and I break it down in this podcast.Team DSM Statement | https://www.team-dsm.com/good-luck-marc/Benji Naesenhttps://www.instagram.com/benjinaesen https://twitter.com/BenjiNaesen https://www.youtube.com/c/BenjiNaesenBELanterne Rougehttps://www.instagram.com/the_lanterne_rouge_ https://twitter.com/LanterneRougeYT https://www.youtube.com/c/LanterneRougeCyclingThanks for listening! 💛 Hosted on Acast. Tour de France 2021 Route Review

Benji and Lanterne deep dive into the Tour de France 2021 route, which was announced during the last week of the Vuelta a Espana. We love the increase in flat time trial kilometres, wish there was more of a queen stage, but overall think it is a better parcours than in 2020. We cannot wait to see how the teams choose their riders and leaders for what will surely be quite an open race.La Flamme Rouge Profiles of each stage - https://www.la-flamme-rouge.eu/maps/viewtrack/389830Tour de France Official Route Website - https://www.letour.fr/en/overall-route Hosted on Acast.
