I don't think too many people had Michael Raffl and Nate Thompson combining for the first couple of goals of these pseudo-playoffs, but here we are. Raffl, who later exited with what could be a costly lower-body injury, potted the first goal of the game and then set up Nate Thompson with the second, en route to a 4-1 win over the Presidents' Trophy-winning Boston Bruins. Carter Hart was his typical, confident and smooth self, stopping all but one of Boston's 35 shots on goal, and that one wasn't even technically a shot- Hart sealed off an attempt from behind the net but the puck seemed to hit Robert Hagg in front and careen behind the still 21-year-old netminder for the Bruins' only tally. There were a lot of positive in this one, from the team's depth shining, to the Travis Sanheim and Phil Myers pair stepping up, to the utter domination of the B's "Perfection Line" - if you weren't excited before, there's still plenty of room on this bandwagon. The Bruins were the last team the Flyers faced before the league was forced to pause because of gestures wildly at all of this all of this, and the Bruins are the first team the Flyers face in the pre-playoff round robin tournament.
