Beyond Perception

This meditation has the intention to reconnect with our child-like essence & intuition - a very empowered state of awe and wonder!! It's our connection to all there is throughout time & space. A place without judgement or the need to make sense. Depending on where you are on the spectrum towards fully unleashed intuition & creativity, we recommend to (re-)listen to this meditation as often as you like, to 'train' that muscle further. This is one of our strategic 'tools' to dive out of the sea of perception - making limited sense based on our past, beliefs & conditioning - to see what's really going on, what we really want and to then create exactly that! Hemispheric Brain Synchronisation - Left vs. Right Brain: The newest part of the brain - the Neocortex - enables higher order thinking and differentiates us from animals. While the Left Hemisphere of the Neocortex is responsible for abilities such as Logic, Analytical Thought, Science & Math, the Right Hemisphere of the Neocortex is tied e.g. to Creativity, Empathy, Holistic Thought and Compassion. We are living in a society, where most are either in a Right Brain Dominance or in a Left Brain Dominance, however only hemispheric synchronisation (= both hemispheres in balance) enable an accurate perception of reality, operating on all cylinders and True Intelligence = Intellect ('Intelli') + Creativity ('gence' = generare = create).  This meditation is one (of many) tools to reconnect with our right brain, our inherent intuition & creativity. A Freedom Fighter, Creator, Social Activist and Change Maker, Evelien is determined to end sexual exploitation of children. She is the Co-founder and CEO of ‘Free a Girl’. An international organization dedicated to free underage girls from prostitution. Since 2008 Free a Girl has rescued almost 4700 children from sexual exploitation. And in 2017 Free a Girl founded the ‘School for Justice’ in India & Nepal to not only fight the impunity of offenders to change society, but also to give former victims a future, by training them to become legal prosecutors. So far she raised over 20M EUR to end sexual exploitation of children, and initiated multiple campaigns gaining support from human rights activists such as the Iraqi Nobel Prize laureate Nadia Murad. For her work Evelien has received several awards, such as the Mother Teresa Memorial Award for Social Justice. I’m extremely grateful to share this conversation. I am thrilled to have Dave Lopez as my guest today. He served as a U.S. Navy SEAL and is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Tactical Operations, Classified Global Counter-Terrorism Operations, Protection, Security and Close Quarter Combat tactics. Because of her family’s human rights legal support to displaced families in Colombia, they were threatened by death. And had to flee Colombia. I have the true honour to speak with Arjan Erkel today. Born in the Netherlands, he studied Cultural Anthropology to then join Doctors Without Borders as humanitarian aid worker in conflict areas. He first worked in Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Sierra Leone and then Russia, where his life dramatically changed. In 2002 he was kidnapped by Islamic rebels in Dagestan and kept hostage for almost 2 years. Since then - as an author, motivational speaker, coach and entrepreneur - Arjan inspired thousands of people with his message about freedom and taking ownership of one's own life. Arjan is also the Co-Founder of ‘Free a Girl’. A foundation that is dedicated to freeing young girls from forced prostitution. Since 2008 'Free a Girl' has freed more than 4,750 girls globally! We talk about his abduction, an extremely confusing period, in which he often feared for his life, e.g. when they started digging holes in the ground, drove him around in car trunks and left him alone for days without food or water. For 607 days he was locked up in dark cellars, heavily secured bedrooms and finally 15 months in a dark underground hutch of 1.5x2m with only the company of insects and mice not seeing any faces during all this time. He was thrown back and forth mentally between hope and despair. Next to losing his freedom, he also had to depend on others to get him out. In the worst moments he felt not only lonely but also forgotten.
