What is your opinion on IV iron infusions using Ferric carboxymaltose? My iron and ferritin levels have been low for years and my doctor recommended it to me. Thank you   Lara: Hi, dr. Cabral :) I hope you and your family are doing well.. My question is about seasoning the cast iron pan.. we found lots of videos on HOW to do it (they differ but all in all I guess you need to bake the oil into it many times in the oven) but which oil to use? Some say flaxseed, because of its polymerisation properties, others say of course not flax because it becomes toxic when heated.. some say olive oil, others are strongly against it.. so we need your help! ;) You are our favourite source of information! How would you do it? And please don’t say lard, because I’m plant-based.. 2857: Hungry After Breakfast, Best Time to Eat Fruit, Pelvic Pain Root Cause, Walking After Eating, Natural Alternatives for Narcolepsy (HouseCall)

I live in Europe so it’s difficult to get your DNS powder because of expensive shipping.. so my smoothies are full of berries, apples, bananas, avocado, steamed/cooked veggies (peas, broccoli, carrot, etc.) and herbs and spices.. I don’t add any extra protein powders, hopefully the veggies, especially peas provide enough? But lately I’ve been more into oatmeal with blueberries & raspberries, a mashed banana, some bee pollen and a steamed apple.. sometimes some papaya gets in there too.. then I add A LOT of hemp seeds, probably at least 3 heaping tablespoons of it - is that too much & is it enough in terms of protein intake? I have a huge bowl of it, mostly it’s the fruit and hempseeds with just a little bit of oatmeal.. But I don’t think that breakfast keeps me full for long (neither does the smoothie) and after I get hungry, it’s so fast that I start shaking & need to eat something straight away.. I even got hot flashes and dizzy two weeks ago instead of just getting hungry.. What am I doing wrong and how would you correct it? I guess it also has something to do with me not eating breakfast soon after I wake up? I drink a litre of lemon water (is that too much ?) and then do some tinctures so it takes me a while before I get to eat breakfast.. I find it a bit confusing… Should it be before anything else or does that spike your blood sugar? If protein should be a part of every meal, but fruit eaten on its own… doesn’t make sense? In a smoothie it can be mixed with everything else, but what if you just enjoy eating a lot of fruit on its own? What time of the day, when, considering other meals, etc..? Thank you   Alexandra: Hi Dr. Cabral, I'm an IHP Level 2 and very grateful for all the work you've done and the information you've provided. I've had a lot of equilife lab testing done. I've come back high in heavy metals - mercury (0.110) and aluminum (0.79). I've gone through a heavy metal detox and am actively continuing to detox through sauna and Epsom salt baths. My concern is that I'm a 28 y.o. female and have very bad pelvic pain that used to occur only before menstruation. It now occurs at other times of the month and has become quite limiting. I've been referred to a GYN surgeon who would like me to have exploratory surgery to address possible endometriosis. I know there must be another natural way to address the root cause of this. I prefer to avoid surgery. I would love any recommendations you have.   Colleen: Hi Dr. Cabral, Thank you for taking the time to answer these questions. Every time you do, it helps me in some way no matter the subject, and I'm sure the same is true for many others as well. I had a question about walking after a meal. If someone has weak digestion, would it be better to walk after eating or to rest and let the blood flow to the stomach? I'd think it'd be best to rest, but everywhere I turn, it seems the advice is that the best thing to do is walk after a meal to help with digestion. If so, how long should someone wait after a meal to go for a walk without getting out of the relaxed PNS state. (On ep. 1639 you mentioned 10-20 mins after a meal, just checking if that still applies if you have very weak digestion). Thank you again, hope this makes sense.   Ali: Hi Dr. Cabral! After learning about all the conditions and disorders we are able to help with diet, nutrition, supplementation, and lifestyle changes, I was wondering if you have done any research on Narcolepsy and natural alternatives that could help. I am 25 years old and was diagnosed with Narcolepsy when I was 20. I am on the highest dosage of stimulants you can be just to get through the day feeling 'normal'. I am terrified of the long term effects this will have myself and others with Narcolepsy. I have done a ton of work and made overall improvements in my health. However i work with a functional medical doctor to manage my hashimotos. Diagnosed age 14 currently 48. Been on your thyroid support protocol. What are your thoughts on adding t2? I'm currently on a combination of 137 Tirosent and 5mcg cytomel. I'm a non converter of t4 to t3 (high reverse t3 always). Did stress protocols etc work on sleeping which helps. Ironically my dr has never heard of supplementing with t2!!   Anonymous: Hi Dr Cabral, I have a question regarding Calcium Carbonate. I heard in podcast 1177 that you do not recommend this form of Calcium, yet I noticed that it's in the Alkalizing Vitamin C powder. Can you please elaborate on whether it is safe to take it in this supplement or not? Thanks   Kristin: Hi, Thank you for all of your education! I know there is a lot of information out there. I appreciate how your natural health recommendations are backed by evidence for their safety and effectiveness! I am hearing about ingesting Borax in small dosages mixed with water as a method of rebalancing toxicities including boron mineral deficiency, supporting with Candida bacterial overgrowth and heavy metal detoxing amongst others. My understanding is it also acts as a biofilm disruptor. Are you familiar with this practice and what are your thoughts about the safety and effectiveness of this practice? So I have been having a more rapid heart rate when I drink alcohol. It started a year ago and would happen when I had a stronger drink or later in the night. Now it’s happening every time I have a drink no matter the time or the percent of alcohol.. I have usually a drink or two on the weekends. I have currently stopped drinking. I’m fairly healthy, I work out 5 days a week. I eat lots of vegetables and good protein. I try to not eat a lot of sugar and have a cup of coffee a day .. both of my grand mothers had pacemaker so the rapid heart rate scares me .. any thoughts you have on this would be greatly appreciated! Check out today's questions:    Stacy: Hi Dr. Cabral I hope you are having a Blessed day . I have dysautonomia/POTS . I did the Big 5 and other labs over year and half ago . Worked with a coach , did several protocols ect . I. Have improved some but the sensory overload/ SEVERE Anxiety is still there . It’s even stopped me from attending church and social events. I feel as though I’ll have a seizure due to the over stimulation. I’ve exhausted all avenues besides SSRIs and my spinal issues from an ATV accident where I landed on head & neck . I have lots of issues with it but terrified to have my neck adjusted due to strokes that can occur . Do you think the dysautonomia could be from my cervical spine ? I’m at a loss of what to do besides possible surgery or SSRIs and I really don’t want to do either but I’ve been suffering long   Annalize: I'm a healthy 47-year-old woman 6.0 ft tall 165 lb. I've struggled with recurrent vaginal yeast infections since high school, trying various treatments. I worked with a Clinical Nutritionist, adopting a paleo diet, my Candida tests were negative, and the infections persisted. I completed the Functional Medicine Detox and CBO protocol. My daily routine includes Fruit and Vegetable blend and Daily Nutritional Support, along with a healthy diet and lifestyle choices. We've been married 23 years, no STDs, 3 children. Two years ago my blood work showed I had Hashimoto and hypothyroidism. I listen to your podcasts, I took your course about Thyroid, I implemented now foods to my diet, did heavy metal detox, made some changes and have been doing all the right things. My TSH numbers went lower over time, then fell into a healthy range, but my last labs showed my TSH being very low, it went down to 0.3. Does that mean that I went from hypothyroidism to hyperthyroidism? Also my anty-TPO are ok (very low) but I have still elevated anty-TG. What does that indicate now? Do I still have Hashimoto or is it Graves now? Thank you in advanced for clarifying that for me.
