Michael: If someone has mold toxicity (Chaetomium) do they need to use anti fungal herbs or antimicrobial herbs? My exposure was in 2017. I get confused some people say yes and some people say no. Joanna: Hi Dr Cabral I have a question regarding children's formula. What are your thoughts and recommendations for baby formula if unable to breast feed. What formula do you recommend? I don't consume dairy myself but I don't want to deprive my baby when the time comes, as I know they need calcium? How can they best get calcium through diet also? Also during pregnancy, if mum doesn't consume diary, what are your suggestions for calcium consumption for mum during pregnancy? This is not for myself however would love to hear your idea on the topic while also educating myself? Many thanks Joanna Carl: Hi Dr. Cabral, I have had gut related issues for some time... Candida overgrowth etc. My morning Cortisol is on the low end, which leaves me feeling shaky upon waking. It feels as though blood sugar is low, but is fine. When I get up from sitting, I feel almost an adrenaline rush where my muscles feel weak and shaky. My blood pressures rises to the 160/115 range. When I sit back down, the BP eventually goes to the 140/85 range. Irene: How do you know what supplements to keep taking forever or what ones to take for a period and then stop? How long should you take these? I take a bunch of supplements and sometimes feel like I can't keep up with the cost of taking them all forever. For reference I take a b-complex, turmeric w/ peprin (depression/migraine), NAC (for skin OCD picking habit), fish oil (depression), Gaia Adrenal Support (stress/depression), Magnesium glycinate (migraine), CoQ10 (migraine), Quercetin (trying just one bottle for allergy season)… Lorena: Hi Doc! Thank you so much for taking the time to answering our questions :) I have two questions: 1. Any advise for greasy hair? I've tried doing everything. Several 21 day detoxes, CBO protocol, changing shower filter, shampoos, all natural remedies. Everything. Not sure what to do at this point. 2. I found an omega-3 supplement that looks really good quality. It has been tested for heavy metals and purity and it says that it has 600mg DHA and 300 EPA. Why would you still stay that the fish oil you sell is better? If it is because it's higher in EPA and if so, why should we prefer those higher in EPA than DHA? Check out today's questions: Julie: Hi Dr Cabral, my daughter (18) was diagnosed with Mono just before basketball playoffs in 2020. To help her with her energy levels during that time she was given a b12 injection before each game. Within a month or so she developed severe acne after never having skin issues of any kind so we feel certain it is injection related. Do you have any suggestions for clearing this type of acne. It is severe and beginning to scar her face. Thank you for your help! Julie Thomas: Hi Dr. Cabral, I recently completed the 21 day detox, and I am also in the process of achieving level one and level two IHP certification. I truly enjoy your passion and ability to teach all the material in an effective, engaging, and enjoyable way! I wear an Oura ring to track sleep and other variables such as HRV. On day two of the 21 day detox, I noticed an obvious and significant increase in my HRV that lasted for the entirety of the 21 day period. Following the completion of the detox, I noticed my HRV settled back into my normal/pre-detox levels. The magnitude of the HRV change was roughly 20ms. My question is - To which component of the detox would you attribute the favorable increase in heart rate variability? I assume it's one or more of the ingredients in either the FM or AYU detox, but I would really appreciate any insight you can offer. Would it be recommended to use a supplement to increase HRV on a regular basis, or is it just better to focus on a holistic approach to maximize PNS activation? Thank you! She has recently been diagnosed with Aortic Ventricular Tachycardia and arrhythmia. My question is... can this be caused by Hashimoto's, which she has also recently been diagnosed with - her thyroid antibodies are off the chart. Additionally, any words or advice you can give regarding treatment for this to help ease our anxiety would be appreciated. It's obviously scary for us parents when anything health related is happening with our children. Thank you! Aaron: Hi Dr. Cabral! Thanks for sharing your knowledge with these podcasts. Would you discuss the difference between Vitamin D3 absorption and utilization? I have listened to a TON of your podcasts, and relistened to all the Vit D topics. You mention needing cofactors like Vit K, Mg, etc. I use 2 scoops of DNS in almond milk each morning with my 6 drops Vit D3, take Histpro, B-complex, and 1Mg at lunch, and balanced zinc with Mg at dinner. My Vit D levels with PCP won't go much above 33. (I had gone from 5 drops to 7 with no change, so settled in on roughly 35units/lbs.) I have heard others say oil based capsules are better than drops for accurate dosing. Do you recommend drops because there is some level of sublingual capillary absorption? If so, do I need to take the DNS a couple hours before Vit D so the cofactors are already in my system, ready to work? Are the cofactors primarily for absorption of Vit D into the body, or primarily for conversion of Vit D for use in the body? This question is getting long, and I hope you understand what I'm asking. I've been doing seed cycling for a while now, so I do the pumpkin and flax seed in the follicular phase and then the sunflower & sesame in the luteal. Does that mean I can't eat those seeds at other times? I love pumpkin and sesame and I would love to have them more often. Could I for example have pumpkin seeds in the luteal phase? I hope my question makes sense! Bettina: Dear Dr. Cabral Thank you for sharing your knowledge I really appreciate listening to your podcasts and getting more knowledge every day. I've come across this product called OMEGA 3 from Nordfolk and I would love to know your thoughts. The oil is made of the zooplankton Calanus finmarchicus. The is EPA / DHA / SDA is bound in wax esters. When taking two capsuls a person gets: SDA 79mg, EPA 68mg, DHA 58mg, Total OMEGA 3 221 mg, ketolic acid 30 mg, Sterol (Brassicasterol etc.) 11 mg, Astaxanthin 1000 μg and D3 5 μg. What are your thoughts and could I take these instead of Nordic Naturals cod liver oil? I would love to use only your products but not livng in the US unfortunately my country puts huge taxes, I know this is out of your hands just mentioning it to say why I ask for alternatives :-) Thank you for your time. My resting heart rate goes down to 58-63 but my husbands resting heart rate is from 38-57. He often gets notifications in the morning that his heart rate went under 40. Is this ok?? I'm quite worried about it. Even during the middle of the day his resting heart rate during the day gets down to 47. I'm 36 and he is 34. He is a teacher and is quite a I've all day. Thanks for your help. Jenna: Can you please talk about autoimmune hepatitis in the liver? What are the root causes of this and also what are the solutions you can think of? Prescribing immunosuppressants is what the doctors want to do for this, but I know there has to be another way. Thank you! Lara: Hi, dr. Cabral :) I like putting all things I can into my smoothie, so I blend berries with different types of lettuce and herbs, add some seeds like chia and sunflower or pumpkin & linseed (depending on seed cycling), sometimes walnuts, hemp protein, etc.. I like using a lot of cinnamon, turmeric powder (with a bit of black pepper), ginger root in it as well, but I was wondering, how much of each is too much? Because I put A LOT! I am wondering about water consumption. I drink half my body weight in ounces per day but was wondering if water combined with other ingredients counts. Anon: CBO protocol and a fecal transplant? Any benefit doing both? Anon: What would be the consequences of lack of bile production? Lauren: Hi Dr. Cabral, I'm writing in with 2 questions: 1. I received my Food Sensitivity test and was surprised to see that green tea, mushrooms, and a few other foods I have been incorporating more recently showed up. I had taken the test a few years back, and none of these foods showed up for me. My coach did mention that some foods eaten frequently may show up, and I'm wondering the science behind this - is this a truly inflammatory response to these foods? I did find some research dispelling IgG testing (e.g. AAAAI) noting the presence of IgG is likely a normal response of the immune system to exposure to food. Wondering your perspective on this. 2. I also recently completed the Big 5 and have completed a 14-Day Detox, Parasite Protocol, and on to the Heavy Metal Detox amongst other supplements recommended to balance out my hormones, thyroid, and gut dysbiosis. Though there were no parasites detected, I have had an anal itch for the past 8 months, and have had very low libido along with recurring UTI and yeast infection-like symptoms. Have tested negative for 2 parasite tests, UTI tests, and STI tests as well. Wondering if you have any guidance on what this might be. Thank you! Paula: Hi doc! Hope you and your family are great!
