Episode 15 - Andy turned out.

ANDY TURNED OUT is an episode with Andrew Parry who was medicated as a child for ADHD, suggested by his school counselor at the time. Novartis, the maker of Ritalin had distributed brochures to the schools in the area promoting Ritalin as '...making kids normal again'. Andrew's mother Sue Parry (Episode 10 - Saving Andy) decided to take Andy off of the prescribed medication when he started to have severe side effects. In this episode, Andrew shares his experience growing up with having been labeled with ADHD and medicated with the stimulant drug Ritalin. Today, Andrew is a successful entrepreneur and is the founder of the Seattle Pomade Company as well as the co-founder of Resonant Botanicals. He also loves to cook and he has recently gotten engaged. In short: Andy turned out, didn't he! For more information on this podcast, please visit www.adhdisover.com

Episode 14 - Paying for Attention.

PAYING FOR ATTENTION is an episode with Consciousness Catalyst de Vie, a deep dive into the meaning of attention, focus, concentration and most of all what it means to 'pay attention'. In the world of ADHD, we are said to have a deficit of attention. It seems to be a currency that each child owns and can give freely. But what makes a child not want to give attention? And what if that child perhaps also doesn't receive the kind of attention they need from their parents, teachers and other authority figures? Could it be that we've been giving away our attention to people, organizations, platforms and so-called beliefs and truths without actually consciously choosing to do so? Perhaps it's time to start the 'Attention Liberation Movement' and for all of us to claim not only our sovereignty but also to take back our attention and start over. So, if you have chosen to listen to this episode, we say a big THANK YOU for giving us your attention! Episode 13 - Hunters in a Farmer's World.

HUNTERS IN A FARMER'S WORLD is a powerful episode with my friend and very special guest Thom Hartmann, an American radio personality, author, former psychotherapist, businessman, and progressive political commentator. In the ADHD world, Thom famously authored "ADD - A Different Perception") and is the creator (proposed by him in 1978, published in 1992) of the Hunter vs. Farmer hypothesis, saying AD[H]D is an expected evolutionary adaptation to hunting lifestyles. Thom proposes that these individuals have the ability of rapidly shifting their focus and external attention, and holding multiple trains of thought. This ability causes difficulties as they live and work in cultures in which "farming" — planned, predictable, organized, repetitive behaviors — is typical. Thom has also established specialized schools for children with ADHD, such as The Hunter School in Rumney, New Hampshire, which he co-founded with his wife Louise. Episode 11 - ADHD & Covid 19.

ADHD & COVID 19 is multi-fold episode about a recent Isrealy study that claims that unmedicated children with ADHD are more likely to get Covid 19. I decided to analyze what could be behind this PR stunt that's clearly unfounded (in a future episode we'll have Israeli research scientist Yaakov Ophir, Ph.D. on our show to debunk it based on real science - air date TBD). Once we got the the bottom of the emotions behind this campaign - fear - I decided to turn the episode into a letter to my sons Etienne (8) and Khai (11) and share with them what they can count on from their parents and what they need to be aware of out in the world as they grow up to become young men! We hope you enjoy this episode and stay tuned for more amazing episodes, including Thom Hartmann in early September and Gabor Maté in October! Episode 10 - Saving Andy.

SAVING ANDY is the heartfelt and heart-wrenching interview with Sue Parry, a mother whose son Andy (now in his 30's) was diagnosed in elementary school and put on medication. The severe side effects from the medication caused Andy some serious medical issues and the family was taken for a tornado-like spin, trying to figure out what was happening with their son. During our interview, it became clear to me that this story represents the story of so many parents out there, struggling with the label, the medication and the side effects this so-called disorder has on families all around the world. We hope you take away some gold from this interview. We sure did! Thank you, Sue! And congratulations for living a successful and happy life, Andy! Episode 9 - Denying your Child's Reality.

DENYING YOUR CHILD'S REALITY is a raw and extremely insightful interivew with our guest Kelley about her childhood and how her high sensitivity and deep intuition were mistaken for ADHD. Kelley ended up being put on Adderall at the age of 14 and shortly thereafter started self-medicating and going into a downward spiral that eventually caused the extreme depression that drove her to attempt to commit sucide twice. In this authentic, vulnerable, and courageous interview, Kelley clearly dispels the myth that 'unmedicated children with ADHD will eventually self-medicate'. We were told the same thing when our son got diagnosed and of course, as a parent, you are scared shitless that that might happen to your child. Most parents cave in and get their kids on meds instantly. In Kelley's case, being on 'legal' drugs only encouraged her to try other drugs to numb her pain of having her own reality denied by her parents and teachers. Listen in and hear for yourself what could be going on with your own child that you suspect has ADHD... For more information on this podcast or the movement, please visit www.adhdisover.com

Episode 8 - That Fork in the Road.

THAT FORK IN THE ROAD is an insightful episode in which my wife Tatiana and I discuss the two directions parents can go in when they're at the fork in the road - to medicate & label or not to. Find out why some parents blindly choose the label and to medicate, while others dig deeper and find alternative ways to create happy and successful lives for their children. This is the eight episode of our new podcast on ADHD that my wife Tatiana and I have created in order to present parents with an alternative conversation around this so-called 'disorder'. Our own son Khai was diagnosed at the age of 7 and we decided to trust our gut feeling (you can call it intuition) to not accept this confidence-damaging label and to not medicate our son... even though his teacher and the principal of the school he was attending at the time suggested we do both in order to make sure he wouldn't end up a druggie or in prison. Listen in and feel for yourself. If you're on the fence whether to medicate your child or not, this podcast is definitely for you. There is nothing 'wrong' with your child. Your son or daughter is not broken. As a matter of fact, in this podcast, we explore the possibility that children on the spectrum might actually be here to tell us something. It's up to us to listen and to figure out what the message is. Episode 7 - Refusing Special Education.

REFUSING SPECIAL EDUCATION is an episode with our special guest MARQUISE CORMIER, an author, public speaker, musical artist and fashion designer, Marquise was diagnosed with ADHD at age 7 and with the help of his grandmother who raised him they refused the ADHD label and the special ed that was recommended to them. Instead, Marquise's Grandmother decided to put him into a school for gifted children. Marquise published his first book at age 7 and the rest is history... This is the seventh episode of our new podcast on ADHD that my wife Tatiana and I have created in order to present parents with an alternative conversation around this so-called 'disorder'. Episode 6 - Burning down the Village.

BURNING DOWN THE VILLAGE is an exploration of the African Proverb "The child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth" and how it relates to ADHD and children seeking attention from their 'village'. This is the sixth episode of our new podcast on ADHD that my wife Tatiana and I have created in order to present parents with an alternative conversation around this so-called 'disorder'.
