Why Self Love Doesnt Work...on it's own.
This is the Albuquerque Business Podcast with your host Jason Rigby. Each week we interview leading local business leaders to inspire the vision and the spirit that is in every entrepreneur. We discuss strengths, weakness, strategies, systems and the problems we can all solve together to fulfill a shared vision of a new future for Albuquerque. Special Guest Riley Lowry he is a leadership coach, and here is his bio and way to connect through LinkedIn. This is second time he has been on the show and we get heavy into Self Love and what that means for your success, and how it can hurt you. We also get into how to fix ruts in your business as a leader, and if your stagnant what is the formula to pull you out of the mediocre mud. I feel some of you have excuses to stay in the mediocrity of blame. Whether is employees, investors, owners, or even vendors. It all ads up to us taking 100% ownership in our organization and sailing the ship in the direction that is true north. Riley Bio: Leadership is the ability to influence action, in order to do so a leader must be inspired. This basic principle is a primary building block in my belief as a leader and for the past 20 years I have emulated this in order to grow. I've chosen a path that requires curiosity, patience and consistency all in which are exemplified in my experience as a General Sales Manager. Being the first of the kind for a fast paced retail operation, I had to establish processes and procedures that directly impacted training for Store Managers, Sales Managers and Sales Professionals in the organization. Also, mentoring other General Sales Managers throughout the company on a day to day basis, each day presented its own unique opportunities to provide mentorship through the most challenging situations as well as celebrate each individual's peak performances. Throughout my professional experience I have been fortunate to have worked with top talent as well as industry leaders. Please connect with him here. Emotions Drive Our Behaviors
I got an email this week from Steve Gutzler and he had these questions in his email and I think it is a powerful team exercise to ask them and then sit back and listen. Put these questions on your whiteboard and let your team answer them. Ohh before you begin the team meeting record it on your iphone just put on the recorder app… then listen to it multiple times. Here is part of the email… I've outlined four big questions to ask yourself (and maybe your team too) when it comes to creating these experiences. Was the customer "surprised and delighted" in a good way? Was the customer happier after the experience compared to before? Did they feel special and valued? Do they want to tell others about the experience they had? Emotions drive our behaviors. Emotions are everywhere and are the biggest factor in how we make decisions around our products and services. I encourage you to gather your team members and discuss the following: What do we do to make our customers feel unique, special, and valued? How do we include our customers in our process to ensure customization and that their needs are met? How do we surprise and delight to make the experience memorable? How do we create a level of loyalty that leads to lasting love and respect? People don't remember ordinary moments. People don't get excited about what is reasonably expected. People remember moments that make them feel: Special, Wonderful, Optimistic, Enriched, Safe, Respected, Excited, Successful, Surprised, Passionate, Happy Decide, as a team, what emotions you want to design for your customers. Avoid emotions that are ordinary. Design and deliver emotions that enhance a memorable customer experience. Here's to the emotional economy of your customers! —Steve Please go to www.abqpodcast.com where you can get show notes, resources, and links to everything we talked about today to help you navigate your journey as an entrepreneur and business owner in ABQ. 9 Ways to be Remarkable
Loved this Seth Godin book you can get it here, and also here is the description on book amazing! This life-changing manifesto shows how you have the potential to make a huge difference wherever you are. Few authors have had the kind of lasting impact and global reach that Seth Godin has had. In a series of now-classic books that have been translated into 36 languages and reached millions of readers around the world, he has taught generations of readers how to make remarkable products and spread powerful ideas. In Linchpin, he turns his attention to the individual, and explains how anyone can make a significant impact within their organization. There used to be two teams in every workplace: management and labor. Now there's a third team, the linchpins. These people figure out what to do when there's no rule book. They delight and challenge their customers and peers. They love their work, pour their best selves into it, and turn each day into a kind of art. Have you ever found a shortcut that others missed? Seen a new way to resolve a conflict? Made a connection with someone others couldn't reach? Even once? Then you have what it takes to become indispensable, by overcoming the resistance that holds people back. Linchpin will show you how to join the likes of... Keith Johnson, who scours flea markets across the country to fill Anthropologie stores with unique pieces. Jason Zimdars, a graphic designer who got his dream job at 37signals without a résumé. David, who works at Dean and Deluca coffee shop in New York. He sees every customer interaction as a chance to give a gift and is cherished in return. As Godin writes, "Every day I meet people who have so much to give but have been bullied enough or frightened enough to hold it back. It's time to stop complying with the system and draw your own map. You have brilliance in you, your contribution is essential, and the art you create is precious. Only you can do it, and you must." American Ninja Warrior & Gym Owner Garrett Takach.
Special Guest this Week: American Ninja Warrior & Business Owner Garrett Takach. Guys this was an amazing interview we got deep into what it takes to be an entrepreneur the struggles and what it takes to go next level in your business. Here below is Garrett's Philosophy with his clients at the Ninja Park him and his wife owns in ABQ. He is also an author and you can get both books he has here. I have a clear vision for what I want to create in this world. I believe that everyone has a significant impact that they were created to make, but unfortunately, most don't pursue their true calling and settle for a life that falls short of fulfillment of their dreams. I work to help people grow into all they are meant to be by teaching them how to overcome obstacles both mentally and physically. I believe that the obstacles we face in our lives are meant to strengthen us so we can achieve our Next Level and fulfill all we are meant to do, but, it is our choice whether we will be strengthened or broken by the challenges we face in life. I created Ninja Park as my way of helping people live limitless lives. My goal for this company is to teach people of all levels and abilities that obstacles are meant to be overcome and that with practice, perseverance, and determination, any obstacle can be conquered. I believe that our health is the most important thing in our lives because at the end of the day, our health is what we have. The Dalai Lama said, "people sacrifice their health to obtain wealth. Then sacrifice their wealth to recuperate their health. And they are so anxious about the future that they do not enjoy the present; the result being that they do not live in the present or the future; they live as if they are going to die, and then die having never really lived." This is the reality for so many people and it is something I work to change. I help people learn the habits that will allow them to achieve the results in life that they want, such as good health, good relationships, a lasting marriage, to know freedom, fulfillment, and success in their calling, and to live a meaningful life. I mainly do this through the 7-Week Transformation Program we offer at Ninja Park. In this program I liberate people from fear and doubt that have held them back in the past, transform them into warriors who choose to be strengthened by challenges, and equip them to know true success in their calling and ultimately live a meaningful and purposeful life. My 3 main priorities for this company are to provide personal development to the team, strategize the growth and direction of the company, and to provide a world class transformation of people's minds, bodies, and lives in our 7-Week Transformation Program. When not working hard for the company, you can find me spending time with my wife Jessica and our dog Luna, skateboarding, wakeboarding, snowboarding, rock climbing, planning an adventure, or just enjoying my fish tank at home. You can Follow Garrett at https://www.facebook.com/garrett.takach also he is guest blogger at https://livetrulyfree.com/blog/author/garrett/ Please go to www.abqpodcast.com where you can get show notes, resources, and links to everything we talked about today to help you navigate your journey as an entrepreneur and business owner in ABQ. follow me on instagram at @abqjasonrigby or sign up for my email list where I drop marketing secrets to help your ABQ Business!
