Why Should We Be Speaking Out Against IVF? (Special Podcast Highlight)
Patrick gets into a topic that often flies under the radar in pro-life conversations, In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), and why, as a pro-life community, we can’t afford to stay silent about it. Check out more conversation about this important issue. Hour 1 Hour 2 Hour 3 Here’s the gist: Why IVF Is a Moral Minefield Countless embryos (aka tiny human lives) are lost during the IVF process: whether through selective discarding, freezing indefinitely, or being outright destroyed. IVF turns the miracle of life into a “lab experiment”, separating conception from the loving marital act God designed it for. Even in the “best case” IVF scenarios (like creating only one embryo and implanting it), Patrick says it’s still morally wrong because the whole process bypasses God’s plan for life. Babies on Ice & the Commodification Problem IVF often results in multiple embryos, leaving some frozen indefinitely, discarded, or used based on “desirable traits” (eye color, gender, etc.). Patrick compares it to treating children like accessories: “Oh, I want a boy with blue eyes”: making human dignity more like consumer preference. Being Fully Pro-Life Means All Life Many in the pro-life camp focus primarily on abortion (which is vital), but Patrick emphasizes: Pro-life isn’t just about stopping abortion; it’s about defending life at every stage. IVF destroys embryos; that’s human life too. Ignoring that reality is being dishonest. A Loving, Yet Firm Call to Action Patrick isn’t anti-child; he treasures every life, including those conceived through IVF. But loving these children doesn’t mean endorsing the method that brought them into existence. He challenges listeners: 💬 “If you call yourself pro-life, you can’t pick and choose which unborn lives to defend. There’s no asterisk in God’s book.” Speak up, even if it’s uncomfortable. Whether it’s a Facebook post, a chat with friends, or simply staying informed, don’t stay silent. Bottom Line: Being pro-life means defending life from the very start, even when that life begins in a petri dish. Patrick’s plea? Stay consistent. Stay courageous. And don’t let the culture water down what it means to be truly pro-life.

Patrick addresses complex life issues from a moral and ethical standpoint. He explores the Catholic perspective on challenging topics like ectopic pregnancies and the implications of IVF, highlighting the need for deeply rooted pro-life values. Conversations with listeners reveal the tension between personal beliefs and political stances, specifically the criticism surrounding recent executive orders. Patrick emphasizes the necessity for open discourse on controversial issues while maintaining pro-life integrity. He discusses the vital ethical matters of today, encouraging informed choices grounded in faith and conscience. Anna - What would be the Catholic Church's look on having surgery for ectopic pregnancy? (1:17) Karen - I can understand why the girl in the audio from the first hour would want to implant an embryo. She is validating the personhood of those embryos (3:13) Candace - Impregnating herself with her mother’s frozen twins? Isn’t that a form of incest? (8:14) George - What do you think you are accomplishing by pointing out that President Trump is imperfect candidate (9:54) Mariah - I am a big supporter of Trump. I appreciate the platform but still agree IVF is abortion. In Trump's mind, maybe he sees IVF as prolife? (23:19) Raul – Donald Trump has become their God (30:29) Christina - George just thinks we need to act as if Trump is a Saint. I think there is more good which is why he is elected but we must discuss negatives too (33:02) Cheryl (email) - I voted for Donald Trump and am very glad I did, but I am extremely bothered by the direction things are moving on the IVF issue within the conservative party. Patrick explores a lively debate around in vitro fertilization (IVF), sparked by a recent executive order supporting it. Callers share personal experiences, from dealing with infertility to lessons learned through faith, highlighting the weight of ethical decisions. Lee (email) – I voted for Trump but I disagree with his stance on IVF (04:20) Richard – Trump said he has been chosen by God. (04:49) Nancy - I am 65 and did in-vitro in 1984. I had no idea this was sin. I just confessed this and am back in the Church. (11:05) Jennifer (email) - In adoption, couples are highly vetted before they are allowed to parent a child. With IVF, we open the doors for people to "purchase" a baby. There is no vetting of "parents". (18:18) Sam - My daughter ended up using IVF. Her husband was treated because of condition found out because of IVF. Trump loves children. We are not producing enough children. (19:35) Chris – We should look to the Catholics surrounding Trump. Those are the people that we should correct, not the President. (21:54) Robert – I’m reading the St. Ignatius Study Bible. Is Uzzah’s death in 2nd Samuel God's way of warning us to respect Mary? (24:19) Theresa – Those who oppose abortion will not speak up about IVF because so many family members are involved. (27:27) Cyrus shares emails that have come in over the last hour about IVF (33:16) Maria - I struggle with infertility. People always bring up my example as why to use IVF, but I disagree. (41:32) Mary Anne - Life is precious. Mary - NAPRO Technology is more successful than IVF. (48:04)

"If Jesus Tells Us to Love Everybody, Does That Include the Devil?" (Special Podcast Highlight)
Spending time with Patrick Madrid every day? "How sweet it is!" He kicks off this podcast episode with a simple request: "Tell your friends about the show!" Seriously, spread the word like a good Catholic evangelist. Now, for the Main Event: Is it OK to Hate the Devil? Julian from San Jose calls in with a question from his son, Nico (who, by the way, sounds like a great kid). If Jesus tells us to love everybody, does that include the devil? Patrick’s answer? No. We love humans because they can be saved. Even the worst people have a chance at redemption through Christ. But fallen angels, including Satan, can never change. They're locked in their decision to reject God... forever. Their whole goal is to drag us down to hell. To explain this, Patrick gives a clever analogy. Would we try to teach animals about God? Nope, because they literally can’t understand. It’s pointless. Same with loving the devil. There’s no purpose to it. And Then… The Mustache Moment Before Julian hangs up, he tells Patrick that his son Nico loves Patrick's "lip sweater.” Apparently, we have a new term for a mustache now. Final Thoughts: Love people. Don’t love the devil. Respect the power of a solid lip sweater.

"I Just Want to Come Home.": A Heartbreaking Letter & A Powerful Response (Special Podcast Highlight)
Patrick Madrid reads a letter from Lisa, a 58-year-old woman who’s been homeless for eight years and is struggling to find her way back to the Catholic Church. Her story is raw, heartbreaking, and full of desperation, but also full of hope. Lisa’s Story: A Struggle for Survival & Faith Lisa grew up Catholic but, in a desperate situation, ended up joining a Lutheran church because they offered her financial help. She always felt conflicted about it and never stopped believing in the Catholic faith. After 15 months, she left the Lutheran church, but now she’s worried: "is she still in good standing with the Catholic Church?" She’s alone, battling lupus, and moving from place to place in Los Angeles, listening to Relevant Radio as her lifeline to the faith. Her biggest fear is that when her time is up, she won’t be “in right standing with the Church” when she meets Christ. Patrick’s Response: A Virtual Hug & A Roadmap Home You can hear the compassion in Patrick’s voice. He immediately reassures her: The Church wants you back. There’s no shame, no judgment... just open arms. Step 1: Make a Good Act of Contrition. If she can’t get to confession yet, she can pray this powerful prayer and trust in God’s mercy. Step 2: Use the Relevant Radio App. There’s a Confession Helper to guide her when she’s able to go. Step 3: Get Help Locally. Patrick is personally working to connect Lisa with Catholic people in her area who can help her get back to Mass and hopefully find stable housing. What About the Lutheran Church? Patrick acknowledges the kindness of the Lutheran pastor who helped Lisa. He encourages her to pray for him and those who assisted her, recognizing their generosity. He also reassures her: she wasn’t rejecting Catholicism; she was just trying to survive. Big Takeaways God’s mercy is bigger than our mistakes. Lisa’s story is proof that it’s never too late to come home. The Church must help the homeless. The Church is meant to be a refuge, especially for the most vulnerable. We need to take action. Lisa’s story isn’t unique: there are countless people struggling right now who need help from the Body of Christ. Pray for Lisa Patrick promised to follow up with Lisa and get her the help she needs. Let’s join in prayer for her and for all those who feel lost and abandoned. If you know someone who’s struggling, be the person who reminds them they’re loved.

Headphone use sparking loneliness in many, study warns Patrick and Cyrus talk about the current psychological dangers our children are facing and how young people are bombarded by the gay/transgender agenda Patrick shared two heart rending posts from Reddit where young women describe how their experience in thinking they were “trans” was in part because of pressure from adults to go in the direction.
