Patrick responds to a listener email about his thoughts on the movie “A Man Called Otto” because of the trans character. This sets off a massive train reaction of listener engagement on the air, both pro and con, and an avalanche of emails expressing very strong feelings about this trans character and most of it is negative. Patrick stands his ground and argues with the message of showing a more Christ like kindness and having compassion for those living a lifestyle you don’t agree with without compromising your convictions Gary (email) – Was surprised you recommended the movie “A man Called Otto” because of the transgender person in the film. What are your thoughts about that? Joe - Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. I want to respectfully say that in order to be a nun you have to be a woman, they should refer to them as 'brothers of perpetual indulgence' Carl - Comment about corporations making nonsense financial decisions without looking at the bottom line. Marylyn - What would make a person need/want/believe in anything that they can't see? Carlos - I thought that the movie was about inclusion. I wouldn't recommend it, but I enjoyed it. Mike - I don't think it's appropriate for people to watch “Otto.” I think that the movie is a slippery slope. I think that there are people who don't have the moral foundation as Patrick. Adrian - I felt that there was a message of promoting transgenderism and calling those who don’t support them “stupid”

Patrick continues the conversation about the movie “A Man Called Otto” and focuses on compassion and understanding without promoting the trans agenda Margaret - I must agree that having the character in the movie, Otto, is nefarious placement. It’s beyond me how we have come to pushing their agenda by always having a gay or trans character in shows. LeQuan - Acceptance for the trans community: How do you separate acceptance of a person and a lifestyle? Jorge - I agree with Patrick about Otto. This is a situation that we encounter in almost every situation of our lives. Patrick reads and responds to a number of emails that just came in about the movie “A Man Called Otto” Shannon - I thought it was handled well and I liked the movie! Maureen - The trans character said his father kicked him out because he was bad at sports. I think that's an interesting point. Joey - If we move away from compassion and go towards anger, what a dark world this will be. Ramona - My child suffers from gender dysphoria. Parents don't kick their kids out, the kids walk out Lauren - Thanks for your perspective on this.

What should you do when someone expects you to use their preferred pronouns? How should you respond as a person who knows that there are only two genders? Patrick has some insightful advice.

Phil - We can lower Catholic school tuition by giving scholarships for families Dennis (email) – Do babies confess their sins before being baptized, where in the bible does it say Jesus’ mother is an intercessor for anyone, and are those little medals, like St. Christopher, pinned on people’s shirts idolatry? Fred - How can we tell if something has a soul?

Special Podcast Highlight  Will you see the new Padre Pio movie starring Shia Lebeouf? Victor from Napa, CA asks Patrick his thoughts. Patrick admits that because of the blasphemy and nudity in the film, he doesn't plan to see it. He explains that he hopes Shia's conversion to the Catholic faith is indeed sincere but wonders why he would agree to take part in these inappropriate scenes of the movie.

They were playing Christian music in between plays! Cyrus shares an email from a listener angry at Patrick for suggesting Dodger fans change teams, even suggesting that doing so is blasphemy Jeff – Would you ever consider the Deaconate? Rae - She wants to compliment how you handle emails and how you distinguish facts from opinions. A priest later told me that I can have greater impact in people's lives by being a layman. Thomas (email) – Is knowingly rejecting the Church’s teaching the road to hell? Elbita - She just learned that there is an American Catholic Church other than the Catholic Roman Apostolic Church. What is this all about? Emily - A friend says that people are not doing anything about the Dodgers situation. She told her to stop listening to secular media and listen to RR. What do you want the church to do? What else should the church be doing?

Patrick continues his conversation with Emily from the end of the last hour. Eva – I go to church every Sunday, but we never hear a priest talk about abortion. Ed - I want comment on a quote from a German priest during WWII and how it relates with what is going on with the Dodgers. Heather - I live in the LA Arch diocese and our priest talked about the Dodgers situation and we are doing prayers of reparation for the Dodgers error. Allen - I am writing a thesis on Catholic social teaching and education and wanting your take on the criteria of Catholic Social teaching? Barron - I am considering the Catholic Church. What is your take on in-depth teaching in the Catholic Church? There seems to be more teaching in my protestant church.
