Patrick shares one of a few emails correcting a caller, Pamela, about seeing a “Pride” flag at her local Catholic Church. Southwest Airlines Defends Firing Pro-Life Flight Attendant Nicole - I haven't seen the Chosen, but I think it reaches people who have never read the bible or stepped foot in a Church. As forms of media change, I think the church needs to find new ways to reach people. Michael - I used to fly southwest, but now that I heard you I am going to purchase my tickets elsewhere. Mike - I think that too many people look to get something from the Holy water but the inner faith is really needed to make it affective. I like the show the Chosen. You need to understand where the Gospel is and where the filler is. Victor - I have seen 3 seasons of the Chosen. I am happy with how well a protestant has done with the creation of this show. Mary - I just started watching the Chosen. I don't want to watch it anymore though because it is influencing me when I read the bible, and I don't like be narrowed in my imagery.

Bill - Regarding stealing the Eucharist: We have ushers standing by the alter looking for this type of thing. Aurora - I was given a bunch of pride books to put in my classroom. What do I do about them being sneakier with putting this stuff in our schools? Anna - How can I argue with someone that marijuana is different from alcohol? Jason - My fiancé’s aunt asked for the Eucharist to be placed in a pyx. What are the rules about this? Andrew - Is there a book that explains “stored up treasure in heaven” that Jesus talks about? Nicole - There are people who are born predisposed to addiction. Marijuana is so strong when people drive by. We should not have to be exposed to this drug. Julia - John's email about Cremation: In the Creed we do say that we believe in the resurrection of the body.

Being happily married prevents working men from burnout David - I heard that 3 days and 3 nights in the 'heart of the earth' means that Jesus was under the control of men and Jerusalem. Which makes sense if you start that time at the agony of the garden, instead of the time starting when he was buried. What are your thought? Clifford (email) – I want to attend church, but my wife hates it. What should I do? Frank (email) – What is the history of the Oriental-Orthodox Church? Bill - How can the spirit feel the pain of purgatory or hell since it doesn't have a body anymore? Roz - If angels don't experience fear than does that mean they know the outcome? If they know the outcome than why do demons do what they do? Fernando - Transfiguration of Jesus: why were Moses and Elijah there? Teresa – Is it permissible for Catholics to be cremated?

Does a follower of Jesus have to be Catholic in order to be granted salvation?  Patrick Madrid is here to give you clarity.  Jane from Chicago expresses her belief that people from other churches and faiths who prioritize Jesus should not be excluded from salvation. Patrick Madrid responds by explaining the Catholic Church's teaching on salvation. He emphasizes that salvation is found in the Church which Jesus Christ founded and that Vatican II emphasized this point. He also mentions that Jesus warned that some who claim to follow Him may be shocked to find out they are not true followers. Patrick Madrid highlights that it is not for humans to decide who will be saved, as only God knows that. Regarding those who genuinely seek God but may not know about the Catholic Church, Patrick Madrid explains that the Church believes in the possibility of salvation for them as well, through God's mercy. He mentions the importance of repentance, baptism, entering the Church, and receiving the sacraments, emphasizing Jesus' words about the Eucharist. To support his argument, Patrick Madrid reads a section from Vatican II's document "Lumen Gentium," which reaffirms the Church's teaching that it is necessary for salvation, as Christ is the one mediator and unique way to salvation. However, he acknowledges that God's mercy is not fully understood, and we must continue to share the good news while praying for those who may not enter the Church for various reasons.

Patrick gives an explanation of repentance and penance as two sides of the same coin and uses biblical stories for examples Jim - Wife went to a healing ceremony and was with someone called Brother Carmelo who performed a lot of things. Ruben - Regarding todays' gospel with Peter: I thought the Pope couldn't be married, so how did Peter have a mother-in-law? Regina - My daughter has left the Catholic Church. She is getting married outside of the Church and said I could say a blessing at her marriage. What should I say? Maggie - I would like to give advice to the daughter who left the faith. Place seeds of faith. When I was far from the faith, my dad would confidently say I would be back someday. Cy - My best friend wants me to be his best man. He is a non-practicing Catholic. Can I participate in the marriage?

Patrick responds to an email asking why he didn’t tell Regina, from the last hour, not to attend her daughter’s wedding Matt - Regarding penance and repentance: can the quote Jesus says “repent and believe in the gospel” be interpreted as “do penance and believe in the gospel?” Joseph – There is a gay couple who have been secretly together and attending our Catholic Church. They now want to be in our parish directory. What should we do about this situation? Miguel - Regarding the homosexual couple in Church: They don't know if they are sexually active so they shouldn't judge Claire 13-years-old - Can a Blessed be your Confirmation saint? Can you go back on a deal with the devil? Lisa - A protestant friend mentioned that if you aren't following the will of God that it is sin. Is that correct? Michael - Someone said he had a hard time believing the bible because of all the translations to it. What can I say to this? Alexa - Regarding men who feel called to the single life: My daughter wants to have a boyfriend but is struggling to find someone. What should I do?

What are some Catholic resources that support the idea that Catholics don't believe or support LGBTQ issues? Susan - A friend told someone else that he was a pagan. Patrick shares a couple of emails in regards to the 29-year-old Shakshouka woman who celebrates not being married with children Janet - I don't think that the Catholic Church is the Church that Jesus established. The apostles didn't mention the Catholic Church. Your principles are contrary to the Gospel. Jane - Salvation outside the Church: as long as you believe in Christ as your savior, I would think that no matter what denomination you are, you would be saved. Mariana - I've known people like the Shakshouka lady and when marriage and kids come, they change. Joe - I read the book Dogma of Hell and I want to know if Patrick has read the purgatory book by the same author? From my perspective as a practicing Catholic, the book didn't seem to scare me that much. I actually thought the book gave me hope.
