Peace is found in the gift of God’s presence but we can also create peace with ours. Jesus said in Matthew 5:9 that when we work for peace, we become children of God. This message will teach you how mutual respect, celebrated uniqueness and shared values can create peace among people. This message also explains the difference between peace and unity. Because a call for unity that asks everyone to agree, assimilate or think the same is a call for conformity, not unity. There is a war for peace and it’s happening within your mind, specifically in the stronghold spot that is primed for battle. Who you let occupy that space will determine how much peace you find. (Hint: the enemy who seeks to kill, steal, destroy and divide is trying to root himself in that place. But Jesus has given you another option.) You can live your truth, doing what you can do and giving what you have capacity to give. OR you can live in God’s reality, where your time, energy and finances can be multiplied through Him. Being decent humans doesn’t require us to need God, but loving people who are hard to love and giving out of our lack does. It sounds right, even Biblical, to follow our hearts (since that’s where we tell kids that Jesus lives). But even the scriptures don’t agree on how trustworthy our hearts are. Do you have soul fragility? People who appear outwardly strong can be inwardly weak when it comes to criticism, other people’s opinions and rejection. Without thinking, we look away and divert our eyes from pain, suffering and things that make us uncomfortable.
