The Christian faith is built on Jesus’ resurrection on Easter morning. But is God still rolling stones? There is a stone in your life that needs to be rolled away because it’s threatening to keep you trapped in death. The Easter story shows us that this miracle was only the beginning of what God can and will do when we lay down the stones we’d rather throw at people. Good Friday is the day we remember Jesus’ sacrificial love. But it’s also a day for us to remember that there is change coming. If you’re sitting in pain, grief or disillusionment, this message is for you. If you’re in a period of waiting, this reminder is for you. If you long to have hope but don’t see it coming on the horizon, enter into communion and remembrance to experience Good Friday as God intended. Then be sure to listen Easter Sunday as we celebrate all the joy that Jesus brings. Scroll most church websites or social media feeds and you’ll find one thing consistently: everyone looks the same. Community is something we’re supposed to be part of as Christians but the problem with community is that it involves people. People who are broken tend to hurt us but there is a glue that holds all of our jagged edges together, even in the midst of conflict and conflicting beliefs.
