Episode 117: Embracing your Natural Sensitivity with Jessi Michel Agadoni
We’ve been speaking A LOT about mindset and business strategy recently on the show, so I’m delighted to change the focus slightly this week to a more physical aspect of sensitivity. Today I’m joined by Jessi Michel Agadoni, who specialises in helping natural sensitives create authentic calm in their bodies - helping them cultivate the grounded, sustainable energy they uniquely need to do powerful work.Jessi’s journey from misunderstood child to owning her own natural and developed sensitivities has led her to supporting her clients to live in a way that honours their trait, rather than work against it.We talk about:Why Jessi decided to use the term ‘natural sensitive’ instead of ‘highly sensitive’Why natural sensitives need to live a little differently in order to be healthy and successful in businessThe difference between natural sensitivities and developed sensitivities (and why the distinction matters)The importance of understanding how you experience emotional trauma, so you can heal your developed, physical sensitivityWhy you can dial up or down your sensitivity (and why that can be your superpower)Learning how to come back into your body and have the courage to own what you need to honour your natural sensitivityTHIS WEEK’S GUEST:Jessi’s book recommendation: The Myth of Normal by Gabor MatéCONNECT WITH JESSI:Website: https://www.merfleurwellness.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/merfleurwellness/ CONNECT WITH EMMA-LOUISE:Website: http://www.emmalouiseparkes.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/ambitiousintrovert/Facebook Group: The Ambitious Introvert® NetworkFREE RESOURCES:Enjoyed this episode? Episode 116: Fighting Anxiety as an Entrepreneur with Katrina Aronson
This week’s episode is on a topic that was requested by an audience member around 9 months ago - how to run a business when you have anxiety. As I don’t suffer from anxiety myself I wanted to speak with an entrepreneur who did, so I’m delighted to welcome my guest Katrina Aronson to share her perspective on the subject.Katrina is a business coach who helps her clients run and grow their business in a way that feels authentic to them. After leaving the corporate world and going onto scale a business from 0 to 6 figures in a year (and then on to multiple 6 figures after that), Katrina found herself struggling with overwhelming anxiety. After developing practices to move through how she was feeling, Katrina went on to create her coaching practice in a way that felt enjoyable instead of draining.I think this week’s topic is going to resonate with a lot of you - whether you’re an introvert or extrovert. We talk about:The tipping point when Katrina knew she needed to get help, instead of just putting another band-aid onThe steps she took to move through her anxiety and why (literally) going upside down helpedWhy making money in business is a lot easier when doing so from a place of joyWhy experimenting with self-care, mindset practices and outsourcing is key to feeling less overwhelmed (and why waiting until everything feels perfect isn’t at all helpful)Why testing changes for 3 months is the only way you’ll know if they workTHIS WEEK’S GUEST:Katrina’s book recommendation: The Power of Now by Eckhart TolleCONNECT WITH KATRINA:Website: https://www.katrinaaronson.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/katrinaaronson_consulting/Through the Marketing Lens Podcast: https://www.katrinaaronson.com/podcast CONNECT WITH EMMA-LOUISE:Website: http://www.emmalouiseparkes.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/ambitiousintrovert/Facebook Group: The Ambitious Introvert® NetworkFREE RESOURCES:Enjoyed this episode? How many ‘must-use’ productivity hacks have you tried? And how many have worked? If you’re anything like me, you will have worked through A LOT of different time management strategies. And if you’re in the ‘why doesn’t this work for me?’ stage, this week’s episode of The Ambitious Introvert® Podcast is a must listen. Episode 114: Mindset, Manifestation and Toxic Spirituality
This week on The Ambitious Introvert® Podcast I’m addressing a topic that I’ve seen become pretty toxic in some circles online - the spiritual messages we see around creating a positive mindset, particularly related to manifestation.I’ve been practicing manifestation knowingly for 13 years, but had actually been doing it without realising for a lot longer! I 100% believe that your mindset is an extraordinarily powerful factor in your success as a business owner, but some of the ‘high vibes only’ messaging we see online can make you feel like you’re doing it ‘wrong’ (you’re not, by the way).In this episode I’m explaining how you can cultivate a positive mindset without the pressure to feel great 100% of the time.Tune in to listen to:Why manifestation is a lot more nuanced than just being ’high vibe’Why it’s not actually possible to think positive thoughts 100% of the time (and why you’re not wrong for having a few negative ones!)The type of healthy mindset I encourage my clients to adoptHow to address negative thoughts (and what to do after you’ve done that)What metacognition means in the context of cultivating a positive mindsetThe 3 things I always encourage my clients to do when they’re feeling more negative than positiveCONNECT WITH EMMA-LOUISE:Website: http://www.emmalouiseparkes.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/ambitiousintrovert/Facebook Group: The Ambitious Introvert® NetworkFREE RESOURCES:Enjoyed this episode? Episode 113: How to Speak and Stand Out as an Introvert with Laurie-Ann Murabito
One of the many misconceptions about being an introvert is that we’re all quiet and shy, but if you’ve listened to this podcast for a while you’ll KNOW that’s not the case. This week’s guest is proof that even if you do consider yourself as shy, that doesn’t need to be your identity forever!Laurie-Ann Murabito describes herself as a reformed painfully shy girl who accidentally became a professional speaker. One of the things I loved about our conversation is how Laurie-Ann uses stories to connect with her audience, and that’s something we can all implement straight away.In this episode we talk about:How speaking (like anything in business) is a muscle you need to exerciseWhy being a sensitive introvert means you already have the soft skills needed to speak, either 1:1 or to a larger groupWhy being more confident as a speaker means you can talk about your business in a more engaging wayWhy speaking is the key to building relationships, whether that’s on social media, in a small group or on a stageHow having a simple process for speaking helps you build confidence, remove emotion and improve each and every timeTHIS WEEK’S GUEST:Laurie-Ann’s book recommendation: Soundtracks by John AcuffThe book Emma-Louise mentioned: Presence by Patsy RodenburgCONNECT WITH LAURIE-ANN:Website: https://www.SpeakAndStandOut.com LinkedIN: https://www.linkedin.com/in/laurie-ann-murabito/ IG: https://www.Instagram.com/laurieann.murabito Podcast: Be In Demand with Laurie-Ann https://podfollow.com/1524969833 CONNECT WITH EMMA-LOUISE:Website: http://www.emmalouiseparkes.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/ambitiousintrovert/Facebook Group: The Ambitious Introvert® NetworkFREE RESOURCES:Enjoyed this episode? Episode 112: Creating the 'Wrong' Business & the Importance of Profit with Megan Yelaney
The common narrative in the online space is all about growing your business - but what if you actually want to go the other way and scale DOWN?In today’s episode I’m going behind the business with coach Megan Yelaney. Megan helps her clients establish their unique brand voice in the online space using what Megan calls her ‘unique coaching method’. One of the reasons why I was so excited to talk to Megan is that the trajectory of her business probably isn’t what you expect. In fact she took a decision around the time of the pandemic to make huge changes in her business to both simplify the model and make it more sustainable. In this episode we talk about:How clarifying the reasons why she was in business led to Megan to make a big restructureWhy she made the decision to make drastic cuts in her revenueHow to create healthy boundaries when working as a coachThe difference between revenue and profit (and why what you see online isn’t always what you think it is)Why simplicity in your business model can have an enormous impact on your happiness and profitabilityWhy how much a coach earns shouldn’t be a deciding factor for you working with themTHIS WEEK’S GUEST:Megan’s book recommendations:The Big Leap by Gay HendricksThe Obstacle is the Way by Ryan HolidayCONNECT WITH MEGAN:Website: www.meganyelaney.com The #PrettyAwkward Entrepreneur Podcast: www.meganyelaney.com/podcast Instagram: www.instagram.com/meganyelaneyTake Megan’s free unique coach approach quiz: www.meganyelaney.com/quiz CONNECT WITH EMMA-LOUISE:Website: http://www.emmalouiseparkes.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/ambitiousintrovert/Facebook Group: The Ambitious Introvert® NetworkFREE RESOURCES:Enjoyed this episode? Episode 111: The Money Mindset for Business Growth with Amanda Joyce Weber
In today’s episode I’m joined by Amanda Joyce Weber, a mindset and sales coach who helps entrepreneurs shift their mindset to create more sales with ease. I started out as a money mindset coach and I still LOVE talking about it to this day! Money mindset is something I help all my clients with, and it’s such an important piece of work to do. When I knew I wanted to have an episode on the mindset blocks that can come up around money, Amanda was the (very) obvious choice of guest to join me.In this episode we talk about:How to hold trust when you don’t have immediate evidence of making moneyHow Amanda overcame her own money mindset issuesWhy you DON’T need to feel the pressure to make things happenThe most common ways people get in their own wayWhy you shouldn’t compare your prices to other people’sA simple mindset practice anyone can use to improve their relationship with moneyTHIS WEEK’S GUEST:Amanda’s book recommendations:Playing the Matrix by Mike DooleyLeveraging the Universe by Mike Dooley CONNECT WITH AMANDA:Website: https://amandajoyceweber.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/amandajoyceweber/Podcast: https://amandajoyceweber.com/onesimpleshiftAmanda’s The Business Owner’s Money Mindset and Manifestation Journal: https://amandajoyceweber.com/moneyjournal (use promo code introvert for 20% off)CONNECT WITH EMMA-LOUISE:Website: http://www.emmalouiseparkes.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/ambitiousintrovert/Facebook Group: The Ambitious Introvert® NetworkFREE RESOURCES:Enjoyed this episode? Episode 110: What ideal client actually means (& what it doesn’t)
In today’s solo episode I’m talking about something that on paper seems quite simple but in practice can be misunderstood, and that’s the concept of ‘ideal clients’. Like many of the topics I talk about on The Ambitious Introvert® Podcast, the idea for this week’s episode came from a recent call I had with one of my own clients. I hope you find this behind the scenes conversation helpful for your own business, even if you think you’ve nailed the whole ‘ideal client’ thing already! In this episode I’m sharing:What an ideal client is NOTWhat an ideal client actually is (and what lens you might want to use when defining this)The 3 things that will help you determine whether a potential client is an ideal oneWhy you shouldn’t necessarily help everyone you are capable of helpingWhy being super clear on who your ideal client keeps you rooted in confidenceCONNECT WITH EMMA-LOUISE:Website: http://www.emmalouiseparkes.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/ambitiousintrovert/Facebook Group: The Ambitious Introvert® NetworkFREE RESOURCES:Enjoyed this episode?
