In 1 Timothy 2:15, Paul says, "Yet she will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith and love and holiness, with self-control." Surely women aren't saved this way, what does Paul mean here? 3. My church is going through Luke. And this past week the passage on Luke 5:39 really stumped me. What does the new wine and old wine and new garments and old garments represent? 4. Are Christians required to speak in tongues? 5. In my city, some people are saying that they are the "true Israelites" and they are condemning other ethnic groups. My question is, is the church the true spiritual Israel? 6. Follow up about speaking in tongues: my friend who is a preacher says that the original greek in John 3 teaches that the baptism of the Holy Spirit means that we have to speak in tongues. I have been baptized, but my church still says I have not received the Holy Spirit because I have not spoken in tongues. I am confused about if I need two baptisms or if I don't need the Holy Spirit to get into heaven? 2. Since the Bible tells us to submit to our governing authorities, and they're telling us to get the vaccine, if we don't get the vaccine are we sinning against God? 4. My daughter has a hard time worshipping on Sunday instead of Saturday since the law of God tells us to keep the sabbath on the 7th day of the week. How should we think about this? 5. Between now and the resurrection, what happens to our bodies when we die? 6. Why does the bible use symbolic numbers in scripture? In Mark 5, Jesus heals a woman who had been sick for 12 years. Then he goes on to raise a 12 year old girl from the dead. These constant numbers used in Scripture make doubts creep into my head about the authenticity of the story. 7. When we stand before the Lord at the judgment, will all of our iniquities and sin be broadcast for all to see? 2. We hear that currently in Afghanistan, Christians could possibly be killed. My question is: In such a situation, what is the Biblical view of attempting to defend oneself? Is it a sin to kill people who are trying to kill you? 3. People seem to be afraid about being in "the last days." Are there any passages you recommend us looking at? 4. There are a lot of different religions in the world. From Judaism, Hinduism, Jehovah's Witness, etc. Because these religions do not recognize Jesus as the Son of God, does that mean their adherents will not be in heaven? 5. In Romans 6, it says that Christians are supposed to be "dead to sin." But I still struggle with habitual sins that I have not been able to completely leave behind. This makes me doubt the assurance of my salvation and wonder if I really am saved.
