View from the Kop: Anfield to the Wanda | Memories of Madrid, one year on | Winning the title
Our latest View from the Kop podcast gives some much-deserved publicity to the ‘Anfield To The Wanda’ charity run/walk currently being undertaken by a group of Liverpool-supporting friends. 24 fans from Spion Kop 1906, BOSS and Up The Reds are running or walking a combined distance of 1,286 miles – the amount from Anfield to the Wanda – in the two weeks leading up to the first anniversary of the Champions League final win at the Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid last year. All proceeds will go to the Liverpool charity KIND, which helps disadvantaged children and families from across Merseyside, and one of the 24 supporters who are taking on the challenge is Sam Evans, who tells Paul Philbin and host Paul Wheelock all about it. That also gives Sam and Philbo the chance to reminisce about that magical weekend in Madrid, before talk turns to the return of the Premier League, albeit without fans, and what it was like to follow Liverpool this season before the coronavirus outbreak. If you would like to help Sam and the 23 others Reds fans meet and surpass their £3,000 target for KIND, please visit and donate at www.anfield2wanda.co.uk.The Liverpool Echo sends a twice-daily Liverpool FC bulletin out via email with the all latest news, views and analysis from Anfield. Blood Red: Liverpool's title hopes given biggest boost to date | Erling Haaland to Anfield? | Bellamy/Rafa relationship
The Premier League today took another step toward a return to action as it was agreed that clubs will be allowed to return to training from tomorrow. All 20 clubs unanimously voted for the next stage in the process to be activated, meaning Liverpool's players can reconvene at Melwood for training this week. Join Guy Clarke, Ian Doyle, Dan Kay and Matt Addison as they discuss all the details to emerge from the Premier League meeting, explaining what it means and when Liverpool could come back. One man who impressed as the Bundesliga made its return was Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland, who netted against Schalke, taking him to an incredible 41 goals in 34 matches this season. Both Fabio Capello and Reds legend John Barnes have been discussing the striker's future lately, with Liverpool touted as a possible transfer destination. There is also a mention for Craig Bellamy and his relationship with Rafa Benitez, who was a manager the Welshman certainly did not see eye-to-eye with during his first stint at Anfield.
