The Liverpool.com podcast: Where is Thiago Alcantara?
In this week's Liverpool.com podcast, Dan Morgan is joined by Oliver Connolly and Joel Rabinowitz to ask: Where is Thiago Alcantara? There is also a look at Liverpool's upcoming fixtures, and how many points they can reasonably expect to take and why, as well as touching on the move from Melwood to the AXA Trainnig Centre. And this wouldn't be a Liverpool FC discussion without some transfer and centre-back chat.Watch and subscribe to our Blood Red videos on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/BloodRedLiverpoolFCJoin our Blood Red podcast group on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1656599847979758/Visit the Liverpool ECHO website: https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/all-about/liverpool-fcThe Liverpool Echo sends a twice-daily Liverpool FC bulletin out via email with the all latest news, views and analysis from Anfield. A chat with author and lifelong Red Tony Quinn on his new book, Klopp: My Liverpool Romance
From Andy Robertson’s 'Now You’re Gonna Believe Us', to 'Greatest Games' by Jamie Carragher, and to Melissa Reddy’s 'Believe Us', if you’re looking for a Liverpool FC book for Christmas, or even to get you through this latest lockdown, then there’s plenty to choose from. And we’d just like to introduce you to another... it’s called 'Klopp: My Liverpool Romance', and it’s written by journalist, author and lifelong Red Tony Quinn. For 15 years Huyton-born Tony was the film critic for the Independent. He is also the author of six novels. But this book is his first dive into the world of sportswriting – and it is the first UK-written book about the man who has guided Liverpool back to the top of English, European and World football. It’s not a biography in the conventional sense, more an ode, as Tony jokes, to ‘the third person in his marriage’... Jurgen Klopp. And earlier this week Paul Wheelock had to chance to speak to Tony from his home in London, all about the book, and all about his beloved Liverpool FC. Enjoy. You can buy Klopp: My Liverpool Romance here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Klopp-Liverpool-Romance-Anthony-Quinn/dp/0571364969Watch and subscribe to our Blood Red videos on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/BloodRedLiverpoolFCJoin our Blood Red podcast group on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1656599847979758/Visit the Liverpool ECHO website: https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/all-about/liverpool-fcThe Liverpool Echo sends a twice-daily Liverpool FC bulletin out via email with the all latest news, views and analysis from Anfield. Analysing Anfield: Caleta-Car, Botman, Badiashile | Meet the centre-backs Liverpool should sign
Duje Caleta-Car, Sven Botman, Benoit Badishile – they are the centre-backs Liverpool should consider signing after the serious injuries to Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez. That’s according to Josh Williams and David Hughes, who identify Marseille’s Caleta-Car, Lille’s Botman and Monaco’s Badishile as potential Jurgen Klopp transfer targets in this latest edition of the Analysing Anfield podcast. Josh and David also analyse the merits of the defenders who have already been linked with Liverpool, including Ozan Kabak of Schalke, Dayot Upamecano of RB Leipzig, Ben White of Leeds United, Gleison Bremer of Torino, plus Perr Schuurs of Ajax. The second half of the podcast focuses on Sunday’s visit of Leicester City to Anfield, explaining why Brendan Rodgers’ table-topping team might not be what they’re cracked up to be, and the danger posed by Jamie Vardy’s enduring talents.Watch and subscribe to our Blood Red videos on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/BloodRedLiverpoolFCJoin our Blood Red podcast group on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1656599847979758/Visit the Liverpool ECHO website: https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/all-about/liverpool-fcThe Liverpool Echo sends a twice-daily Liverpool FC bulletin out via email with the all latest news, views and analysis from Anfield. Inside story on Harvey Elliott's flying start to Blackburn Rovers loan spell – and Mohamed Salah comparisons
Matt Addison brings you a special podcast to find out how highly rated Liverpool teenager Harvey Elliott is getting on during the early stages of his season-long loan at Blackburn Rovers. Many expected the 17-year-old winger to remain at Liverpool and train alongside Jurgen Klopp’s first-team squad. But on the domestic transfer deadline day Elliott joined up with Tony Mowbray’s Championship hopefuls Blackburn, where he has been making an instant impression. That’s according to Jaquob Crooke, who covers Rovers for the LancsLive website, and former Scotland striker Kevin Gallacher, who was part of the Blackburn squad that won the Premier League title in 1995 under Sir Kenny Dalglish. Matt speaks to both as he discovers the lengths Mowbray went to sign Elliott, how the Rovers boss keeps Liverpool up to speed with the teenager’s progress, and why the England youth international is playing in the perfect system to help him when he returns to Anfield next year. Plus, there’s a tantalising comparison with a current Reds star. Enjoy. A chat with Sir Kenny Dalglish: His trust in Jurgen Klopp, thoughts on Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino, and his new ambassador role
The Liverpool ECHO’s Connor Dunn had to chance to speak to Liverpool FC royalty on Friday when he was granted an audience with the legendary Sir Kenny Dalglish. The chance came about after Sir Kenny was appointed the Global Sporting Ambassador to British cyber technology company VST Enterprises, who have developed a secure digital health passport called the V-Health Passport. The company believe the passport will be key to getting Liverpool fans, and football supporters across the country, back into stadiums. So Connor asked Sir Kenny more about that – and about the football, of course, too, including how Jurgen Klopp will deal with his defensive injury crisis, and the potential battle for a starting spot between Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino.Watch and subscribe to our Blood Red videos on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/BloodRedLiverpoolFCJoin our Blood Red podcast group on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1656599847979758/Visit the Liverpool ECHO website: https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/all-about/liverpool-fcThe Liverpool Echo sends a twice-daily Liverpool FC bulletin out via email with the all latest news, views and analysis from Anfield.
