Liverpool fell to a fourth successive defeat for the first time in 11 years as Manchester United claimed a late win at Anfield on Sunday.
The Reds fell behind in controversial circumstances early on after Bryan Mbeumo scored despite Alexis Mac Allister suffering a head injury in the build-up.
Arne Slot's side fought back and saw Cody Gakpo hit the woodwork three times, while they also had a penalty appeal waved away for handball, before the Dutchman equalised late on by converting Federico Chiesa's low cross.
But Harry Maguire then headed home Bruno Fernandes' cross to clinch a first win at Anfield since 2016 for United.
And with Liverpool falling to a third late defeat in a row in the Premier League, they have now dropped down to fourth in the table.
