He has written five books, including his most recent, The End of Greatness: Why America Can’t Have (and Doesn’t Want) Another Great President (Palgrave, 2014) and The Much Too Promised Land: America’s Elusive Search for Arab-Israeli Peace (Bantam, 2008). He received his PhD in Middle East and U.S. diplomatic history from the University of Michigan in 1977. Between 1978 and 2003, Miller served at the State Department as an historian, analyst, negotiator, and advisor to Republican and Democratic secretaries of state, where he helped formulate U.S. policy on the Middle East and the Arab-Israel peace process, most recently as the senior advisor for Arab-Israeli negotiations. He also served as the deputy special Middle East coordinator for Arab-Israeli negotiations, senior member of the State Department’s policy planning staff, in the Bureau of Intelligence and Research, and in the office of the historian. He has received the department’s Distinguished, Superior, and Meritorious Honor Awards. Miller is a member of the  Council on Foreign Relations, and formerly served as resident scholar at the Georgetown Center for Strategic and International Studies. He has been a featured presenter at the World Economic Forum and leading U.S. universities. Between 2003 and 2006 he served as president of Seeds of Peace, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young leaders from regions of conflict with the leadership skills required to advance reconciliation and coexistence. From 2006 to 2019, Miller was a public policy scholar; vice president for new initiatives, and director of the Middle East program at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. Miller is a global affairs analyst for CNN. His articles have appeared in the New York Times, Washington Post, Politico, Foreign Policy, USAToday, and CNN.com. Dr. Anahita Dua, Chair of Healthcare for Action, is a Vascular Surgeon at Massachusetts General Hospital and an Associate Professor of Surgery at Harvard University. As a surgeon, she knows that in order to get things done and save lives, the surgery team has to work together and take action. Our politics shouldn’t be any different.  In 2023, Healthcare For Action merged with Doctors In Politics, founded in 2020 by a group of physicians specializing in psychiatry, family medicine, OBGYN, and neurology. Anahita Dua, MD, MS, MBA, FACS, is a vascular surgeon at Massachusetts General Hospital and an associate professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School. At Mass General, she is the director of the Vascular Lab, co-director of the Peripheral Artery Disease Center and Limb Evaluation and Amputation Program (LEAPP), associate director of the Wound Care Center, director of the Lymphedema Center and associate director of the Vascular Surgery Clerkship and director of clinical research for the division of vascular surgery. She specializes in advanced endovascular (minimally invasive) and traditional (open) limb salvage techniques for treating peripheral arterial disease and critical limb ischemia, diabetic limb disease, aortic disease, carotid disease, thoracic outlet syndrome and venous disease. Dr. Dua completed her vascular surgery fellowship at Stanford University Hospital, her general surgery residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin and her medical school in the United Kingdom. She has also completed a master’s degree in trauma sciences, a master’s in business administration in health care management and has a certificate in health economics and outcomes research as well as a certificate in drug and device development from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She is board-certified in vascular surgery, general surgery and advanced wound care and management. Dr. Dua has published over 140 peer reviewed papers and has edited five vascular surgery medical textbooks. She serves on multiple national vascular surgery committees through the Society for Vascular Surgery and other vascular organizations including the South Asian-American Vascular Society and American College of Surgeons. Dr. Dua's lab focuses on anticoagulation and biomarkers that are predictive of thrombosis and hemostasis in patients that have undergone revascularization. She is interested in creation precision, point of care medical approaches to anticoagulation for patients post revascularization. Her clinical and outcomes research focuses primarily on diseases involving peripheral vascular disease, limb salvage and critical limb ischemia. She is part of a technology development team that creates tools to increase walking distance and wound healing while decreasing pain in patients with peripheral vascular disease. Dr. Dua is also involved heavily in surgical outcomes-based research using large medical databases to generate both quality outcomes and cost effectiveness data. Dr. Dua is a self-described animal lover and rescuer of pitbulls. At one point, she housed 14 pitbull puppies and their mother at once. Nowadays, her spare time is spent with her husband, son, daughter and dog Leo. The Washington Monthly called him as “one of America’s most important journalists.” The Portland Oregonian said his work equals the original muckrakers: Ida Tarbell, Upton Sinclair and Lincoln Steffens. Johnston met Donald Trump in 1988 and in April 1990 revealed that Trump’s was no billionaire. When Trump announced his latest run for the White House in June 2015, Johnston was the only nationally-known journalist who immediately said Trump was serious this time and might get the GOP nomination. His reporting over the next year led to the Making of Donald Trump, published around the world in English and German on August 2, 2016, by Melville House. The San Jose Mercury recruited Johnston when he was just 18 years old because of his reporting for two small weekly newspapers in Santa Cruz, Calif. At age 19 The Mercury hired him as a staff writer. Within weeks his byline made the front page. Over the next four decades his award-winning investigations appeared in that paper, the Detroit Free Press, Los Angeles Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer and The New York Times. Since 2009 Johnston has taught the business regulation, property and tax law of the ancient world at Syracuse University College of Law. He previously taught writing, reporting and magazine writing at the University of Southern California and UCLA Extension. He has lectured on four continents about journalistic techniques, ethics, legal theory and tax policy. The Blackest Questions entertains and informs audiences about little-known but essential black history. Topics range from world history, news, sports, entertainment, pop culture, and much more. Christina Greer is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Fordham University - Lincoln Center (Manhattan) campus. Her research and teaching focus on American politics, black ethnic politics, urban politics, quantitative methods, Congress, New York City and New York State politics, campaigns and elections, and public opinion. Prof. Greer's book Black Ethnics: Race, Immigration, and the Pursuit of the American Dream (Oxford University Press) investigates the increasingly ethnically diverse black populations in the US from Africa and the Caribbean. She finds that both ethnicity and a shared racial identity matter and also affect the policy choices and preferences for black groups. Professor Greer is currently writing her second manuscript and conducting research on the history of all African Americans who have run for the executive office in the U.S. Her research interests also include mayors and public policy in urban centers.
