Super super excited for this one because I think it gives a lot of context into both the ways I think about starting at a new company, and growing within one in general -  I talk to a bunch of employees at Vaynermedia, talking about everything from leaving to travel for a year, to meeting new people, to struggling with expectations at a new job - there's so much value in here I know you'll really get something out of.

FIRED UP for this keynote I did in the DC area, really honing in on why the internet is such a game changer for modern businesses & entrepreneurship - expanding into what it's like being an entrepreneur during the time that entrepreneurship got cool (now) and how and why it's changed so much over the last 40 years. I also talk directly to the people that think they can't make $100,000 a year, and why I really believe it's so easy now to accomplish this goal. 

The successful mindset of an entrepreneur comes down to not complaining or dwelling. I'm hearing so many people speak about their massive ambitions but simultaneously talk about how they don't work on the weekends or that they go home everyday at 6:00 PM, and then they have the audacity to complain that the results aren't coming fast enough. You NEED to be patient and understand that the only reason you want the results to come quickly is because you're trying to cover an insecurity and prove it to someone... Please, stay in your own head and put in the work. You can't sit down on the couch, think about a million dollars, and then expect to find a million dollars in your bank account. It just doesn't work like that... you have to put in the work.

I really wanted to share this talk about trusting employees, giving them trust and then learning how they operate from there rather than the traditional "trust is earned" stance. Also, for anyone that is confused, because I'm a very alpha character and I believe that the new "man" is growing in emotional intelligence and "soft skills". Kindness, empathy, and gratitude, which were once considered "soft" are now becoming cool.

This is a really fire mashup revolving around balancing your life & sleep that a lot of you need to hear ... hustling doesn't necessarily mean that you're working 22 hours a day without sleeping - I think sleep is one of the most important things - it matters what you're doing doing those 16 hours that you're awake. I also talk about how I think about "work/life" balance and my methods for keeping what I see as balance.

Fired up to have my long time friend & killer entrepreneur Scott Belsky on the show -  Scott is one of the founders of Behance, and has been involved in a number of other creative endeavors, working with Adobe, Sweetgreen, and other companies. We take a few questions from my First In Line Facebook group & a few calls from the audience, answering questions about starting content production & more. 

 I sit down and talk with The Eighth, a fairly new retail business attacking the white space they saw in the men's luxury underwear market. We discuss their early days in researching and identifying the market, luxury branding, SEM and SEO approaches, influencer marketing, content creation and the importance of documenting versus creating. For the listeners that have asked in the past, this is some really good insight into how I approach  introductory business meetings, evaluate the viability of new businesses, and suggest marketing strategies.
