Marriage Lessons from the Coopers' (not always smooth) 30 years

Are you married? Thinking about taking that step? Even for those who see marriage as a generally positive thing know it rarely – ok, it never – matches the fairy tale. Unlike the fairy tale version, there are no magic potions available. However, we’re hoping this special episode will provide a few ideas to tip the scales in a more positive direction for those who are either married, heading that direction, or have friends or clients who are looking for guidance along the way. Suzanna and I will be celebrating 30 years of marriage this month so thought it might be a good time to look back and consider some of the lessons learned over those 30 years, ranging from “Buy more toothpaste” and “Live in 3D” to “Rocky Balboa’s secret.” We don’t have “the answers,” but we thought maybe a few things we’ve picked up through the detours and dirt roads over the past 30 years might be of interest to those traveling a similar journey or pondering doing so in the future.
